    Irish chain top completed....PHEW.

So I finally finished piecing the single Irish Chain throw for my DD, and her XTall, XXL hubby.
I was painfully close to running out of fabric. After cutting the binding strips, I had a 6" X 20" piece of fabric leftover. YIKES!
A special thanks to starlover, for coming up with a great way to expand the borders, as I was painfully short on the finished size. (It wasn't the exact suggestion, but a variation...)
It finished at 52' X 68". I'm officially smitten with the Irish Chain.
The next one will have a bit more pizazz, though...

One of my favorite patterns! Love it! I finished a hunters star recently out of the same paisley. Love that fabric.

That turned out lovely. I love the single Irish chain. Be sure to add this to the Irish Chain Group Library!

That looks great, Sue. I have a double irish chain at the quilters. I like your colors much better than my own!

                Thanks, guys!

This wasn't really planned out well, I just had a spontaneous urge, and rode the wave...And sweated out the fabric!

The Irish Chain is best, the bigger it is, no doubt.

As I said, my next will have a little more pizazz. I'm confident enough now, using the strip piecing technique, to buy the good stuff.
This was kind of a 'crash test dummy' with inexpensive fabric.

It worked up fast, and I loved the experience!
