I purchase several charm packs, some yardage and FQs for the purpose of making a Christmas quilt. I cut the 5" squares as indicated in the pattern. As I started constructing the blocks, half of them were too small. I discovered that not all of the charm squares were the same size; went through the packs to find that some were 5", some were 4.75" What a mess. I wadded it all up and tossed it in a box. Too annoyed to continue sewing, I went web surfing and found Jenny's video on sashed D9P. Since I had to cut the charms to a consistent size, the finished size of the nine patch did not matter. Eureka!
My Sashed D9P Table Topper was born. I used Thermolam for batting, quilted it with YLI 40wt. poly covered cotton longarm thread. Panto design is Snow Winds by Patricia E. Ritter of Urban Elementz.
Jenny had the solution to keep me from tossing this fabric collection into the trash. And I couldn't be happier with the results. Thanks Jenny!
