Speaking of rag quilts- hexagon rag

I just finished this for Project Linus. Someone donated the bag of chenille scraps and they were asking me to put them in a rag quilt!

I started the top at a class last year, Hexagon Garden (or something like that) and did not like my jelly roll choice, so I improvised and made it a rag quilt instead.

the back was totally random, I did not attempt any kind of deliberate color placement:

That turned out wonderful...it was a great idea to make the chenille into a rag quilt. I can imagine how soft it is.....great job!

Piece of cake! LOL! I have seen the stuff you sew Jean, Y seams are no big deal.

All these hexies were sewn together on my Rocketeer. LOVE that machine!

I don't think I would have thought of rag hexies, but it's gorgeous!

I am going to be 'ragging' different kinds of things this year. One of my goals for adding texture.

Totally cool! This would be a great idea for someone who wants to practice their quilting but have a small machine. Just think, all those UFO blocks left over from Samplers, practice free motion on small sandwiches and then make a rag quilt!

Beautiful quilt - really love that back!
