Customer lap quilt, and I don't like the colors she chose. The pattern is ok but all together it not right. I have so much to learn about color. 20140115_234338.jpg

Re: UGH The colors are not my style
The colors are different - but I love the pattern! What about borders? A black border might help to frame it. Or one with a print that pulls all the colors together, but I am assuming she doesn't like prints since she chose all "solids". Either way, it looks like you did a really nice job of putting it together!Donna

Re: UGH The colors are not my style
If it is what the customer choose,, and sewed together, then they will LOVE it. Need more details on who made it.. and has it been seen by both parties.??? Personally I wouldn't have put yellow/gold with the other colors... but that is just me with my Color Theory of what goes with what...Judy

Looks like a Mardi Gras Quilt! When I made children's clothes...I was absolutely miserable sewing something that I didn't like. Sometimes the customer isn't always right, but hey, to each his own...that's what makes us all different!"She who dies with the most fabric wins"

Love the pattern and you did a great job piecing this! The colors aren't me either, but I've made quilts for folks that pick their fabrics and they love them when they are done and that's all that matters. Your customer will love it too!Thank you,

Re: UGH The colors are not my style
Looks okay to me, but I know what you mean. The design and piecing are great! I had that problem with one before and ended up telling her she would just have to trust me. Everyones tastes are different though. I just don't like spending that much time with a quilt that I don't loveNot a lot of customer quilts for me!
To quilt or not to quilt?.....what a ridiculous question!
