layout of scrap Granny by GB

Yes, I know I'm all over the page here, but whatever is driving me,, I'm rolling with it...here is the first throwdown of my grannies.. didn't even make a dent in the scrap bin,, but this is 100 sq... made and tied off now ready for the borders..is only about 4ft X4ft... but that's enough, seeing I usually end up giving it away anyway...take a peek.. not sure if this is the final,, but close.. I will now pick them up by rows, elastic them and put masking tape with the row number..I missed my calling, I should have been working in a sweatshop all these years...LOL

That looks great. I need to start one of those with my leftovers. What color is your background going to be?

          It's beautiful!

When my mom passed she had a few of these. One as it turned out was a chevron. I didn't appreciate them back then.

I have ALWAYS used black,,, but this time, in holding to my ongoing purpose,, I going to use WHITE,,, why???? Because I HAVE a huge ball of white in the yarn stash.. (or should I say mountain)... I've seen scrap quilts I just love with multiple colors and patterns using white as the background,, so why not yarn... We shall see... ps.. this Granny is something I've concocted... it's not as "holey" and a better size...now tonight ON to the edge them all..

I actually like your Granny s better than the normal ones. Yours look like they have a spiral in the middle, and like you said, they are less holey. It's coming together great.

Ooo, I usually use black too, but I think the white is going to be really pretty.

I just love this. Crocheting is my other life long love. Seems I am always making something or another, and this looks like a cute idea for all those little bits of yarn I have left over.

Barb, those are wonderful. I used to crocheted but don't know if I could follow a pattern any more. You though are a genius with yarn.
