My very first Dresden - a work in progress...

I was supposed to go into town, buy batting and finally quilt all the things UFO
    - and then I took a moment to just check into that black and white fan-thread...

Well, with no ruler and very little experience with your kind of measurements
I made a template, ironed some remnants + a couple of scraps and did this.
There are 21 parts so obviously the ruler I now have ordered will come in handy! LOL

    On the other hand:
If I wanted to make a given size plate couldn't I fold a circle, cut a wedge and
snip the top straight and then add seam allowance?

I just placed my very first Dresden on a bit of fabric
and ditto with the wee center I cut out to test if the color would be right.

The jury is still out on that one..

    Hugs from Eva Mari

Gorgeous! That background fabric is just perfect, the little drummer boys are so cute.

Thank you so much, - I really enjoyed dresdening!
I took the measurements from the thread and it truly turned out A LOT bigger than expected...
I blame all you wonderful quilters for inspiring me away from the straight and narrow... LOL

That is very pretty! I like the center color, it goes great. I have had the ruler for awhile and need to try it out - perhaps this weekend. Thanks for the inspiration!

Thank you all so much! I loved the plate you made, Suzi! <3

I ordered the ruler that was today's deal + the binding tool + two charm packs and some other stuff..
Now I only have to figure out what 71 points mean..

                      Hugs from me

PS: I chose the fabric I tested ( in the middle there ), cut template and ironed and all + basted.
Now to what to put behind in that block...
