    Friendship Quilt

I've finally finished this quilt top and I have the backing and batting to layer it up but I have no idea how to go about quilting it.

I don't want to distract from the appliqué because the hand sewing took me forever so I don't really want to sew over the top of it. Any ideas?

What if you "echo" quilt around the applique shapes to set them off, 1/4" stitch around the frame parts or stitch in the ditch. Then you can do what ever moves you in the patchwork part.

It is a lovely quilt, and you have done a great job with all of that applique.
