    Simple fat quarter toddler quilt

A gift made for a close friends daughter who is turning one. Used 12 FQ's from Riley's Blake's Sunny Happy Skies line, which is just perfect for a little girl, the binding is scrappy from some of the remaining fabric left over from the FQ's and backing, there is still plenty to make a baby quilt down the road for someone else!! The backing is from my stash, I made a simple label that was sewn into the binding, and I used my domestic machine to do a big stipple/meandering all over quilt design. Fast fun project, finished size is just shy of 36"x54", perfect for a toddler!! I used this tutorial here: Easy-Peasy Strip and Fat Quarter quilt | Sew Craftalicious. And just made it my own, thanks for looking!!!

Super cute!! I love brites and I'm waiting for a jelly roll to make a rail fence. But I really like your different widths!

What a happy little quilt! I love the cheerful colors.

Do you think this would work with a layer cake? Seems to me you could cut a square into three s strips... with varying widths...then sew the strips into scrappy blocks... Then square up the blocks....

Definitely!! These are 8 1/2" finished blocks, I used a layer cake to make a pattern called Piece of Cake 3, which was varying widths plus sashing, but I am sure you could forego the sashing all together and just use the layer cake!

I was thinking of a layer cake too! I hope you don't mind if I show an idea with charms where you just chop them up.

What a sunshiny quilt! That's probably not a real word, but it sew fits this quilt!
