    Color Splash Quilt Front

Copying the Black & White Block Swap idea, I bought a lot of these fabrics and chose to make more of the same block. This front will be given to my artist daughter who decorated her main living room in black & white adding a splash of color placed strategically. She noticed my attempts in the Block Swap and fell in love with the black and white design. I think it will be a thrill for her to receive my own creation bundled in love!
I placed the Dresden blades in the bow-tie design to emphasize the color centers I chose for my centers. Then I made the border from the same fabric to make the color even more dynamic. I plan to back it with a black fabric and then bind it with that same black.

Please check out my new album COLOR SPLASH Bow-Tie

Yes the directions are with the dresden ruler. You can also look for Jenny's tutorial on the dresden plate to see how it's done. Hugs, Jan L

This is very pretty.......I just got the ruler and I have a collection of black, white, and red fat quarters that I want to use for a quilt on my baby grand. I really like what you did!

Patrice, the ruler gives you the instructions to make the blades (the black & white tie-like pieces) and the center circle. You sew those on blocks of your choice, and then, you can turn the blocks in several directions to make your own design. Please check out my other album on my id page where I made a complete circle with the blades. I love that one! Oh...and look at the photos in the Black & White Swap. Suzi did an awesome design with some blocks and gave us a photo to admire.
Vickysiiterly - you'll love making the blades and it will look beautiful with the red centers! I cannot wait until you show off your creation! It will look fabulous on your baby grand! Maybe you'd like to make more of a flower bloom (shape the outer rim of the circle) so that it looks like a rose bloom, rather than just a plain circle! Have fun!
          Thanks for your comments! Debi
