    Hack and sew quilt

OK...I finally finished the quilt. It will go to a friend's sister who is schizophrenic and lives in a home for that sort of thing.

Love the quilt, zenkitty. It looks very warm and soothing and I'm sure it will be treasured by the recipient. Great job! Would love to see close up of the quilting.

How beautiful. Don't you love the feeling when you finish a project and are able to give it to someone who really needs the comfort and love that comes with it?

Oh, how lovely... so soft and snuggly-looking! Good job!
You know you've had too much coffee when you can thread a sewing machine while it's running.

Thanks. The back is flannel. I had a friend who is learning to use a long arm do the quilting for me. I asked her to just do loose meanderings...nothing tight. It took me some time to figure what would work in an institution....not just for her but if she is around others. I like bright colors, so this entire project was a stretch for me. I will try to give you a close up of the quilting.

This is the closest I could get to show the quilting. Sorry...I already packed her up for mailing. The batting is Mountain Mist Cream Rose, 100% cotton from Jo ann's. It was on sale and thought I would try it. The quilter said it had a nice hand to it. It washed nicely...gave it a nice quilty look.
