    Kaleidoscop quilt - the second

Well, after I've already practised this technique which I intodruced to our quilting group by making a table runner I've made a bigger quilt out of decoration fabric, which I know now was a fault. It was very thick and woven very dense. (is this the right Expression? - because I'm German and I don't find a better word). So my old old Pfaff-Sewingmachine didn't want to let me quilt the inner part. As I did it by Hand I knew why. It was a kind of heavy work for my fingers and I will never recommend to choose such a fabric. But I think the pattern was worth it.
In the Frame I used normal Cotton quilt fabric and so I tried to make some freemotion motives. So it's more ore less the first attempt on a solid fabric where you can see the work very easily. But I'm pretty glad with the result.
The whole quilt is about 37x42 inches.
You can find the other results of our group here. http://wege-quilts.blogspot.de or here http://wege-quilts.blogspot.de/2012/...iltmadels.html
There are many more quilts in different styles and you can at least enjoy the pictures because the whole blog is written in German. There is a "Google translate" button on the right side which does a kind of "poor" Job. :-)
If you have any questions or translation issues feel free to ask me.
    Bye from Germany

The quilt is gorgeous, it might have been a lot of work but it was certainly worth all that effort - well to look at it is.

Beautiful. Now that you've conquered the pattern you will need to find some perfect cotton and do another one. Spectacular. Thanks for sharing.
