I just finished this for a friend. It started as a wall hanging last year. Not happy with it, I put it in the drawer for a while. Pulled it out and added borders to make a nice lap quilt

That's so prerty! You did a great job turning that into a quilt and your borders look wonderful with the Flying Geese. (Haha my autocorrect wanted to turn that phrase into flying saucers! Ah, no I don't think so)

I love it! When I saw the description I thought of my grandmother. She always called cardinals “red birds”. Red is my favorite color, too.
