Got grandson number 3’s graduation quilt finished at 4:45 when I needed to leave for the theatre at 5. We are leaving tomorrow morning at 9 for Iowa. The quilt top was finished before Christmas, just waiting to be quilted. Procrastination is my middle name, but I got it done!
The pattern is called “ Beneath the Stars” Using Soar fabric coordinates from Northcott. I added length at the top and bottom by adding the piano key border, it is 60” x 86”, big enough for a dorm bed. The boys love warm blankets because they hang out in their cool basement entertainment room, so it is backed with Minky. I quilted with stars and swirls. I know there are several panel patterns using this gorgeous fabric and panel. Hope he likes it!
IMG_9274.jpg IMG_9276.jpg IMG_1080.jpg IMG_1081.jpg As I was throwing on the binding, I realized I needed to make a label. Luckily I had done one for his brother two years ago, I just changed the name and date, and it stitched out quickly!
Glad to get that off my plate. On to Jan’s quilt when I get back.
