    Here's the first row

    Decided to go ahead and show this even though it's no where near finished. I'm growing accustomed to the colors, especially since I've got the sashing on. I'm sashing as I go, which seems to work out easier for me.

    ETA: I've also added the inspiration. It came from The Big Book of Civil War Quilts. I changed the center to a four-patch because I thought the X would be too difficult. This quilt is also much smaller than the one I'm doing. I adjusted the block size to make it easier to piece.
