One of the Nit-Wits is having cancer surgery on Tuesday the 10th

I have made a quilt for each of the Nit-Wits when they have gone to the hospital for surgeries. Margaret has be diagnosed with Lung Cancer. She's always cold so I have made her a Jelly Roll Race to take to the hospital with her. The doctors say the cancer was found early and is only in the bottom lobe and can be removed. They don't think she is even going to need chemo or radiation. I'm taking this to her Saturday.

Oh that looks so good. Very comforting for her I'm sure. 👨‍⚕️

That particular Grunge line made a great JRR. I’m sure she will love it. Her prognosis sounds quite hopeful.

I know she'll love it and be wrapped in warmth and prayers.

Oh, glad you are still in contacts with the NitWits after you move. I was wondering about that. I'm sure she will love the quilt.

They can't get rid of me that easily. lol

We talk on the phone frequently and I always touch base with them when I'm up there. A couple of them are planning a trip down here in the Spring, they want to go to the Casino in Cape Girardeau.

Not sure I should ask, but... Who are the NitWits? I hope all goes well with the surgery.

The Nit-Wits started out as a group of 8 neighbors who enjoyed doing things together, traveling, eating out, having carry-in dinners and such. We all lived in the same apartment complex and became sort of like brothers and sisters. The oldest is 88 (and don't feel sorry for the 88 yr old, she walks 6.5 miles a day. I claim she is the prototype for the Energizer Bunny) and I'm the youngest at 58. One has passed and we also had two "Honorary" Nit-Wits, one of who has passed. A better group of friends I couldn't imagine. I miss having them as neighbors, but we stay in touch by phone and visit back and forth.

We decided we were Nit-Wits because we were crazy enough to try anything.

Thanks, Bob, for clarifying. It sounds like a fun group of friends.
