These are both "giant" disappearing 9 patch blocks... I had bought a Moda "Nostalgia" layer cake from MSQC about a year ago, and couldn't decide what to make with it. Recently did a D9 patch runner inspired by Jenny's tutorial, and it occured to me that I could use the 10" blocks from the layer cake to make a really big 9 patch, cut it up and reassemble into a square runner. Did one with mostly blue squares for one friend and mostly green for another.

Re: More table runners
I like those!
I bought what I thought was bright colors in a layer cake to make my friend a braided wall hanging. When I got the fabrics sewed together into rows and hung them on the curtain rod to step back and look at them, they weren't as bright as I wanted. So they sit in rows. (In the meantime, I have a stack of brighter solid colors to use). So, what to do with these rows. Think I'll take apart a seam or two and turn them into the 9 patches and do what you did to get a few table runners out of them for a sale in the Spring.
Thanks so much for the idea!
Hugs,
