The backing is a Winter blanket ( one of them soft ones)
I am one that has to have all the lines line up. So I made it different size squares so the seams did NOT line up. Each row is the same size square
IE: line 1 was all 4 inch squares
line 2 was all 6 X 4 squares
and so on until you get the size you need
P.S it was easy I sewed them in strips and then sewed them all together. First strip I made the as long as i needed it and went from there.

It is a lot of work. It is so heavy
Well I cut out all the squares by hand and even traced them on the jeans.
It took about 2 months all together.
I made sure I have all squares cut before i started sewing. once i started sewing it was only a few days until it was done.

Very nice quilt. I just put out a call to all my friends and family for all their old jeans, I want to make my grandson a rag quilt. Can you give me any advice on working with jeans, any tips on cutting them up. Thanks for any info and for your 1st quilt you did a beautiful job!!
