Friendship braid baby quilt

I made this using half a kashmir IV jelly roll. I picked out all the pinks because I knew the baby was going to be a boy. The binding was made using the 6 jelly roll strips pieced together and then cut on the bias.



I think it turned out really pretty

Ditto what the others have said, very pretty and quilting is great, I must keep that in mind next time I do a braid, I tend to use a feather or similar up the braid.

Question: jr from the photo I assume you didn't ditch stich up the sides of the braids, just the zigzag across the quilt is this correct?

I still haven't quite got the hang of basting so I often get puckers where my lines of quilting cross so I came up with a plan that didn't require any crossing. I just echoed the seam lines in a zig zag and then stitched in the ditch up the edge of the border and went back across the other side of the strips.

This picture shows the back after sewing three of the zig zags.

Thankyou, yes, I just love that it is so simple but ever so effective and it's more than enough quilting.

Note to self, "I do not need to stay inside the box, lateral thinking is good, just because it's a braid does not mean I have to quilt along the braid".
