Flower Power Table Runner (first one)

I used the Flower Power pattern here....http://missouriquiltco.com/shop/flow...-my-heart.html

And the 12 Days of Christmas charm pack here...http://missouriquiltco.com/shop/12-d...a-fabrics.html

To make my first table runner!

I messed up on the binding on the sides and had to trim. Unfortunately, they still didn't come out even, but I hope you can overlook that. As a beginner, I had some trouble getting my points and seams to line up, but at my LQS, a wonderful lady gave me some of her forked pins. They are expensive (30 pins for $10), but worth it! If MSQC doesn't carry them, you need to!

I wish that I had seen the tutorial on the Dresden plate middle circle before I did the flower centers. I think these would have come out better if I had seen that first. I wasn't sure how the Christmas fabric would do for this pattern, but I think it looks like it has poinsettias on it. I might make them more "poinsettia like" next time by making them pointed at the tips of the petals.

    Hope you enjoy this!

I like it! You did a fab job. Unless you really squint hard and put your eyes all the way up against the screen you dont see anything.
Have a blessed day in HIS name!

Thank you! LOL! My quilting instructor told me that all quilts should be seen from across the room!

(I hope this doesn't break any forum rules to post something off site.)

You use them on seams, and I found the seams stayed exactly matched and did not move or shift. It made all of the difference. There are also no heads, so it was a simple matter of manually walking my stitches over them.

However, they are pricey. I didn't think they would be worth the money until I tried them.

I heard that if you can't see it on a galloping horse, the mishaps just aren't there.

I think you did an awesome job! And, those fabrics are really pretty. I wish my first quilting project would have turned out as well as yours did. It looks like you are on your way to more great projects.

I have never seen the forked pins. Thanks for the info...they sound like they are really worth the investment! I'm going to buy some.

That's really cute. I wonder what those flowers would look like going round a christmas tree skirt...

Beautiful table runner. Think the forked pins will be on the next shopping trip.

You are too hard on yourself, I've been quilting for years and still do not go for perfection as I am doing this for fun and think there should be ZERO stress involved! Only an "insecure" quilter would look down on anyone else's work! LOL
Keep these works of art coming, you will only get better as you go along!
Thank you for the tip on the pins. I will definitely look for some!

Wow, I really like your table runner. And you've got me thinking shamrocks, with the four leaves. Would just need to use multiple green fabrics and add a stem.
