    Looking for Broccoli Salad Recipe

This is one salad I really like but have never made. Do you have a favorite recipe to share? Many thanks!

Re: Looking for Broccoli Salad Recipe

I just bought a wonderful pre-made salad from Costco. Broccoli, chopped kale, radicchio, sunflower seeds, raisins, and chopped cooked/crisp bacon with a delicious sweet kind of ranch dressing. Had it for a family reunion get together and everyone thought it was delicious. I will make this on my own in the future instead of buying at Costco. Just gotta figure out the awesome dressing. Just found this recipe....It's the one I was telling you about. I hope it's what you want

DH & I like this brocoli salad at a local cafe. It's not difficult to make, so we have often.

Brocoli, cut in small flower eté
      Dried cranberries or raisins
      Sliced red onions
      Dressing - ranch or mayonnaise.

Enjoy life and do what makes you happy. Everything else will follow.

Every day I try to do one thing that challenges my comfort zone.

There are many different variations. Two I really like. One is made with florettes, bacon, cheese, raisins, onions and a sweet mayo dressing (Sweet Tomatoes serves this one) and the other is made with shredded broccoli and ramen noodles. Pinterest has tons of recipes too.

          I don't have exact measurements.

I use 2 heads of broccoli and a pound of bacon, chopped red onion, and a mayo dressing. Cook the bacon until crisp but still tender. The dressing is about a cup of mayo with a tbsp of sugar and red wine vinegar to taste. This is the dressing I use for coleslaw also. You can add shredded cheese (mozzarella or cheddar) if you like. Some have chopped apples, sunflower seeds or raisins added.

It is a cooks choice type of dish. You can't mess up.

Another nice salad is sliced kale, shredded carrots, and chopped apples. Use a similar dressing that is thinned out more than the above dressing. Enjoy!

I make one similar to Suzanne's.

            Broccoli cut into small bites
            Purple onion sliced
Sliced almonds (or any nut you prefer)
            Dried cranberries
            Julienne carrots
Pomegranate seeds (I use red grapes instead)
            Poppyseed dressing

Our favorite in my family is made with a sweet/sour dressing-simply Miracle whip, apple cider vinegar and sugar. Broccoli florets-sometimes add cauliflower pieces also, raisins, sunflower seeds & bacon. Now this is very adaptable, swap raisins for dried cranberries or dried cherries, swap sunflower seeds for slivered almonds, cashews. I also par cook the veggies just enough allow for a fork to pierce but sure to keep the vibrant color.
One yard of fabric, like one cookie, is never enough!

Agree with all of the above. I often add cooked barley.

Ok ladies, those that add bacon to the recipe, you have converted me. You had me at bacon.

Did I mention I love bacon? I know now there won't be any leftovers for next day.

I started cheating a while back, I use Marzetti dressing instead of making it from scratch.

Mine is similar. Broccoli, toasted pecan pieces, dried cranberries or raisins, sliced red onion. Dressing is mayo, sugar and vinegar. I add a drained can of mandarin oranges just before serving. Adds a bit of color and different taste.
