    What's doing for Easter dinner?

DH, DS#1 and I are going out for dinner this year as it's just the 3 of us, think we'll head down The Shore for some fresh seafood dining. Just wondering what others are doing or making this year, at home with a traditional meal or trying some new recipes or going out like us?

BBQ'd brats at my sisters and celebrating a bday so cake and ice cream, No little kids in the family anymore so no Easter eggs. I kind of miss the dyed fingertips!

Nothing! DH eats nothing but the regular foods he eats every day. DS#2 & his girlfriend are coming to town & we're going out to eat after church. DH will remain at home & eat his usual.

LOL I read that as "Brats" (a.k.a. obnoxious children) and that explained why "no little kids in the family anymore".

        Sorry for laughing !

There will be Easter breakfast at church, after that, I have no idea.

My daughter will be cooking after church. I think a ham and I will take what ever she ask me to. I hope the weather is nice so the little ones can hide eggs.

It will be a quiet day with DH. Of course, I don't mind as it means some stitching time. Dinner will be chicken breasts over rice, mushrooms and onions. Top with provolone cheese and bake until melted. It is one of our favorites and I'll make extra for dinner another day.

                happy Easter to All!

I am dropping the traditional meal of ham, turkey & fixings. I decided that I'm not going to spend days cooking and then be too exhausted to enjoy the company. We are doing it for Saturday dinner.

My daughter & family and my step son & family, and my GF Pat. So we will be 7 adults and 6 GKs. We are celebrating April birthdays - Matilda 7, and my son in law. I don't think we will decorate eggs, but maybe I should think about an activity. My son & other step-son are working so we will see them next week.

I am cooking salmon, and spatcock chicken on leeks with asparagus & brussels sprouts. It's my new favorite and easy to cook. I'll serve with basmati rice, a broccoli & cranberry salad, and garden salad. And make desserts.

Enjoy life and do what makes you happy. Everything else will follow.

Every day I try to do one thing that challenges my comfort zone.

I'm not planning to cook as I hope to be taken out for lunch to celebrate our 47th anniversary a day early.

I am keeping it simple with oven roasted chicken, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, stuffing and fruit salad. Haven't yet decided on dessert. We have 3 grown dau, one lives out of state so she will not be here. Two live in town and one is divorced but the ex has gd this holiday. Invited the two dd and bfs to dinner and they "will let me know." Clearly dinner at Mom and Dad's is not high on the totem pole for them. Still, tomorrow being Friday I need to food shop and it would be kind of nice to know how much to buy! And how much to have to clean up my house, which isn't terrible in fact probably alot neater than the two dd I invited! I lsee someone posted they are having brats. I love brats, can't wait till weather is warm enough to pull out the grill. ( I love them slightly burnt and black and split open.) Still wearing winter coats and mittens here. Oh and Happy Anniversary Myrna!

Suzzane, what about sidewalk chalk? Bubbles? One year the weather co operated and we flew kites. Was lots of fun and got us outside.

I do have sidewalk chalk and bubbles, but we are currently being rained out and thunderstorms are forecast all day Satuday, which is when we everyone is here. I hope that the weather Gods are wrong. It is also too muddy to send the kids to the park.

I think I will make cupcakes and have them decorate them. I only need a short time activity, as they are squirmy when sitting too long. I thought of eggs, but I don't want the dyes to get on their Easter clothes. Maybe I can pull out the giant game boards.
