I'm smiling at the icing recipe. My mom always called that the powdered sugar frosting. When I make it, (I need a big bowl LOL) I have to have lots of extra powdered sugar. My first try is too thick, add more milk, too thin, add more sugar and repeat. One year I made enough frosting to cover about 10 dozen cookies, so I made more cookies. My mom used her recipe and made cut out cookies for every holiday or event. The cookies disappeared in a flash. She even made cookies for my wedding using a church cookie cutter. I hope I remembered to thank her.

I tried the candied pecans, unfortunately I read "soft ball" as "soft boil".
Can you tell I'm not a candy maker?
Still very yummy, just very wet. Will definetly give it another try.

Thanks for sharing - I never knew to add corn syrup to the powdered sugar icing! I will definitely try that.

And...the salad pictured at the top of the page looks yummy!!
