    My Grandmother’s Lemonade

    My Grandmother’s Lemonade
    Ingredients
    • 12 whole Large Lemons
    • 7-½ pounds Sugar
    • Water
    • 1 whole 5-gallon Bucket With A Lid
    Preparation Instructions

    The night before:
    Cut lemons in half and squeeze to make 1 quart of lemon juice. Refrigerate overnight. Put half of the squeezed lemons in a separate container and refrigerate overnight.
    The next day:

    Put sugar in a 5-gallon bucket. Add 1 gallon of warm water and stir until dissolved. Add refrigerated lemon juice and mix well. Fill the bucket a little over half full with cool water. Add the refrigerated lemon peels. Cover. Just prior to serving, add a bag of ice to the bucket.

        IT sounds delish but I am with you Tam on the sugar. I'm sure it's necessary for almost 5 gallons of sweet lemonade but imagining 7 pounds of sugar...... lol

            Here is my recipe, it only makes a quart, which may be more practical if you aren't serving a crowd.

            1/2 cup lemon juice (I often cheat and use RealLemon juice)
            3 T sugar

            Combine in a quart container and fill with water. Refrigerate. When you are ready to serve, pour

            one ounce pomegranate juice

            in your glass and fill with lemonade. About 1 Points Plus for the sugar.
