Barbecue Beans
Drain 7 -15 oz cans of beans, but be sure to include a can of green beans and yellow wax beans.
Connie also uses the following:
Black beans
Pinto beans
Red kidney beans
Navy beans
Green lima beans or white kidney beans
Any kind will do, but it is nice to vary the colors.
Gently mix the drained beans. In a Crockpot, layer beans and barbecue sauce, starting with the sauce. Heat until very hot and cooked down, about 2 to 3 hours. Keep lid ajar.
Rena Tomaw’s BBQ Sauce
2 cups ketchup
1/2 cup onion flakes (use less)
1/4 cup vinegar
2 cups brown sugar
Salt/pepper to taste
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
Simmer for 45 minutes.
