Let's share some of your favorite Christmas Recipes here. I'll start with this one. It's very yummy!
Grandma's Gingerbread (Cake)
350 degree oven
2 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp ground ginger
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground cloves
1/2 tsp salt
sift together. Then add:
5 tbsp butter
1/3 cup liquid honey
1 large egg
2/3 cups molasses
3/4 cups milk (add a litle more if needed, to make a cake batter consistancy)
Beat well and turn into greased and floured pan or cup cake pans.
Bake 30- 35 minutes or until toothpick inserted into center comes out clean. Do not burn!!
Brown Sugar Sauce
2 cups brown sugar
1 cup water
Add to a saucepan and heat until sugar is dissolved. Thicken with cornstarch diluted in water and heat until thickened. Add 1 tbsp butter and 2 tsps vanilla. Serve warm, over gingerbread and one scoop of vanilla ice cream.
