Jcy, good to know back to baseline, fingers are crossed the new doctor will be as nice and all Dh worries disappears, know what you mean about the fixed routine, it can be hard to settle them when new tasks occur.
will try to resolve, am still a novice at the settings here, even coming up to 2nd forum birthday

Jean thank you for answering, we all have different terms, everyday is a learning day, great to know,
do believe our Queen HRH, is quite small in comparison
    have a great day

its always interesting how many places we share the same names of even with the water between us. often wonder if things created here are also apart of over there.

love the quilt Jean, is queen sized clothing a polite term, or the quilt sized required?
    happy stitching

Queen size clothing refers to that which very large women wear. I was overwhelmed by the size of these dresses and how much fabric was actually in them. I could have made 5 quilts from these 20 dresses there was that much fabric in each one!

Treadler ~ Tried to send you a PM but was unable. DH is back to his "normal" baseline at home. He's anxious about seeing the dr. tomorrow, especially since the only opening was in the afternoon, & he prefers morning appts. He's very set in his daily routine & doesn't like changes in his usual activities. Also, it will be a new dr. for us, since our previous dr., whom we really liked, is leaving the practice the end of the month, so we've had to switch doctors...again.

Back again from a successful day of retail therapy in fabric shops. I got some waffle weave fabric for tea towels at 50% off, quilting cottons at 25 & 50% off. Also got a ruler & wrap-zap batting. The thing with this LQS is that their regular prices are already lower than any LQS, so sales are fabulous. Only bought a few metres at 2nd LQS, but got 10% off as VQC member. Also visited a new to us shop. Beautiful quality fabrics.

201 Treadler - no Cornish pasties in this Cornwall on the other side of big pond. But we did go to my favorite childhood family bakery that still makes the raspberry, sugar, pecan and butter tarts. I bought 2 of each and had one for dessert. Just as I remembered.

Mimi Howard, I am so sorry for all your health issues, and hoping you get some relief soon. Sending prayers that your dad is not too distressed and not in pain. Sometimes, we seem to get hit on all sides at once. Take time for you. Hugs sent to you across the miles.

sending prayers Mimi, that is terrible news, fingers are crossed.
hoping they do for Jcy is hubby much more settled?

Suzanne does your Cornwall have Cornish pasties?

we been out today, and its been good to go down the old haunts of too many years ago, Things has changed, some things needed changing, on the whole it was enjoyable.
we ended up having to go round a super market to get foods to make and have a picnic due to the lack of gluten free foods, available in eating haunts. may vegan options no gluten free. Alas next time we venture so far will take a packed lunch, in this day and age you expect limited choice not none at all. the good news is we can make the same for lunch tomorrow
    have a great day everyone,
    T

Mimi ~ Thoughts & prayers for you & your dad.

Jeanne ~ We still have our little table Christmas tree up. I put it up late, so we still are enjoying the lighted tree early in the mornings & evenings. There are no holiday police here! LOL!

I keep hoping life will settle down a bit so I can do some of the usual house cleaning & resume sewing & quilting.

    Re: Wednesday hellos!!

    Good afternoon all,

Mimi, I just said a prayer for you and your dad.

I arrived home yesterday from my month in NC. After 12 hours of flying (3 planes) and layovers, I was exhausted, but didn't sleep very well. DH had piled up the mail for the whole month, and it took me two hours today to sort it all! Three piles: throw, recycle, and keep.

Believe it or not, the Christmas tree is still up. I left in a hurry ( there were concerns about the baby) only a couple of days after Christmas, so I just left it to deal with after I got home. So that's on the "to do" list. I better get busy unpacking my suitcase and backpack. The sewing room was left in a mess....add that to the list. I don't work at J's until Sunday, and I hope to get organized before then, with maybe a little sewing thrown in. I sure missed my sewing machine while I was gone!

Good afternoon! Mimi so sorry to hear about you sickness and your dad’s health situation. Hope you all get better soon!

Monique, i made a memory quilt for a friend usi g his late wife’s business clothing. His wife wore queen size clothing and he brought me a huge pile of her dresses that were tent type dresses. They filled my whole bedroom! I asked hime to pick out 20 of his favorites and take the rest away. We decided on a simple random square pattern with some borders from her mumu style dresses with border prints. The dresses were assorted fabrics, cottons, rayons, wools, denim, twill. Many were suiting weight and colors. So i jazzed up the somber colors with the bright prints, all cut into 5” squares and made into 9 patches. Once I got going after cutting hundreds of squares, it went together easily. It turned out nice and he liked it. So it is possible to do even with wools.

Snowing a bit here but nothing is sticking. Just another grey winter day.

Lifting prayers for you and yours. Hopefully, they'll be able to get you some medication so you'll feel better. Take care of yourself first, I know it's the hardest thing to do when so many plates are in the air.

    Re: Wednesday hellos!!

Good morning! Yesterday was a session of what worked well and areas of improvement for the event that was Saturday night. Also worked on getting ideas of live and silent auction items. Then we can work on doing them one at a time throughout the year. With Holly's talent of designing, the possibilities are endless since we can print almost anything through spoonflower.

Last night after the 4-H council meeting, I worked on a snap basket. I think I am going to do what another lady did and resize the pattern to different sizes for an assortment of baskets. The cool part is they lay flat for easy storage or travel. Then I started sewing on a table topper.

Today I am hoping to sew on the table topper. There are a few errands for me to do later.

Mimi, prayers for your dad and you.

    Have a good day everyone

Mimi, prayers on the way for you and your dad.
Finished a quilt for my cousin in Texas and made a tote bag to store it in as well. Got it in the mail yesterday and they both fit in a priority mail box so I didn't have to find a box and tape it up. Should arrive there tomorrow. She will be surprized because I did not tell her I was making it for her. HeHeHe
