  • A Fantastic Craft Show

Well my first craft show of the season has come and gone. It was an amazing show. I made 10% more than the same show last year. I took 102 bowl cozies with me, and was sold out by 1:30 Sat., so I had none to sell today. (2 day show) I know I would have sold another 40 at least..I do have a couple of orders, for 8 total that I need to get made up. We were very busy yesterday with steady sales all day. The bowl cozy sales counted for a little less than half of my total sales. Today was pretty slow...but we had enough sales today that we didn't fall asleep, lol.
My grand daughter is such a huge help for me. She unloaded the van almost single handed Friday evening when we sat up, then was with me all week end, helping with customers and keeping the space tidy and organized. She is a pro at counting back change, and running the card reader. She earns the $ her Gran pays her for helping me out.
This old gal is worn out from the week end however. Gonna go grab a bite, and then spend the rest of the evening chilling.
Will spend the next 5 weeks restocking for my next show the first week end of December. Lots of bowl cozies need to be made.

I'm so glad you did so well. It makes it all worthwhile and is heartwarming for all the effort.

My show price is not the same as my on line price. I buy my wrap n zap by the bolt, so it drastically cuts down on the cost to make them. I also am a 'pro' at making them, and don't even need to mark the lines or use a template like some people do. Selling that many in a 2 day period gives me plenty of profit on what it cost me to make them.

Congratulations on a successful show! Do you make your cozies starting with a 10 inch square?

Awesome. What a great feeling to have a successful weekend. I am curious. What makes the bowl cozies so popular.

Glad you had a successful weekend with M's help, of course.

Karen - I love the bowl cozies in the winter for heating my bowl of soup or morning oatmeal quickly in the microwave. And it prevents those cold fingers from holding a bowl of ice cream in the summer. They are great gifts (single, a pair or a 4-piece set) that are reasonably priced and not widely commercially available. I've been surprised how many don't know what they are and have never heard of them. Once they find out their usefulness they usually buy at least one - but usually more around the holidays for gifts.

Great news! So glad your weekend was successful. I made three or four dozen last year for Christmas. Everyone loves them. They're so useful. You had a very nice selection of cozies and a wonderful presentation table. Nice job!
