Continued prayers for my friend needed

My friend Kathy had open heart surgery 1 week ago (on Jan. 19) for an aortic valve replacement & bypass of 1 vessel. She's having a tough time of it & is very discouraged. The main problem is A-Fib. Her heart is not maintaining a regular rhythm. She's extremely fatigued. She's also having problems with fluid retention. Please pray that her heart will achieve & maintain a normal rhythm and that she will get well enough to be transferred to a rehab. facility. Also keep her husb. Wil, who has terminal cancer, in your prayers -- for pain management & for improved sleep. Having his wife undergo such a serious surgery & be in the hosp. is hard on him. His dau. is staying with him 24/7. Thanks for prayers & positive thoughts.

Yes of course. Hopefully her body will begin responding to the surgery quickly.

You've got it. They can do a cardiac conversion to get her heart back in rhythm - I would imagine they are waiting for healing though. We just never know, do we?

Prayers out to the family. Sandy is correct, A-Fib is treatable. The most dangerous part (the actual surgery) is over and she came through just fine. But post-surgery recovery is difficult and can be depressing because it takes much more time than one expects. I'm sure they will address the A-Fib as soon as she has recovered enough to have the procedure done. (My husband went through it after his quad by-pass and valve repair.)

They are using medication to help with the A-Fib, but she doesn't have a consistent rhythm yet.
