    Monday Monday

Good morning friends. Well Saturday was a bust as far as quilting goes. We went to an auction sale. I bought 4 plastic thimbles, blue, pink, yellow, and white. They say Coats Dept. Store on them with 4 hosiery repair kits to go with them. Paid $5. They really wasn't anything else for me but hubby bought a few things.

Yesterday I quilted pretty much all day. I think I am half way done on that quilt.

The van will be going into the repair shop today as hubby has to leave it in town for the night. Power steering hose went on it. He has to work today so I guess he will be seeing Doug to borrow his vehicle for the day. I work Wednesday and Friday this week. I hope the van gets fixed today.

The temperatures have been so mild here all week. I really am enjoying this warmer weather. It looks like we are going to be having a snow storm late tonight into tomorrow, 15-20 cm possible, 3-8 inches. It looks like tomorrow is going to be a good day to quilt.

Have a great day everyone and stay warm and stay safe.
Blessed are the children of the piecemakers for they shall inherit the quilts!

Good morning Monique and everyone. This'll be a short message as I have an early appointment for an abdominal ultrasound. Had to eat totally fat free yesterday and nothing this am until after the test - not even coffee - so I'm a little grouchy - LOL!!

I got my pink, purple, gray and white elephant quilt finished yesterday - now I need to get her sandwiched and quilted. It turned out really nice.....fingers crossed my FMQ is good. I'll post some pics later of the quilt and also my solstice project blocks.

    Have a great day everyone.

        Morning....

Taking Halona to school, one early errand before returning home. I hope to hear back from any of the three interviews I had last week. Job hunting is getting discouraging after a couple of months now.

I got about 50% of the sewing room decluttered and there's more unpacking to do......maybe I'll make some headway today.

          Morning all,
Up early today for our breakfast group. Looks to be a cloudy day and boy, the wind is a blowing out there.
Haven't done any sewing since coming home from my retreat. I seem to have lost my motivation a bit. Hope to find it soon so I can get back to work on my orange peel quilt. Have another project in mind but will check my fabrics to see what I have for it. Thinking of making Jenny's garden party.
Sending extra hugs to those who may be under the weather or just need a few extra today.

Nothing exciting going on here--but that probably is good. I sewed the blocks together on my D9P yest. & got 2 rows sewn together. I hope to sew the binding strips together today. I'll use FQ strips. I have at least 2 loads of laundry to do. I'll be mixing up my turkey patties. I use 3 lb. of ground turkey & add garlic, onion, cracker crumbs, eggs, seasonings; it makes ~20 patties.

It was nice to see Blondie's post yest. It sounds like she's super busy. Time to fix DH's breakfast. I hope it's a good Monday for everyone.

Morning Everyone....Another Monday morning. Jeff left for work an hour ago and a load of sheets is washing, Olive is napping on the chaise and Dottie is next to my chair as I type this. She has been extra attentive to me since we found out Olive is so sick. I think we are comforting each other.

No sewing going on here yet. I looked at some charms yesterday and threw them back in the drawer. While in Cuba Saturday I spent some time with our tenant who quilts and taught her how to put on sashing two ways. She is making Jenny's strip butterfly quilt and now she's ready to add the sashing and cornerstones. She's a quick learner. Next time I want to teach her how to put on borders and then help her a little with her bindings.

Carol, good luck on your test today. Sherri, I'm hoping for good news about a job for you. Has it really been a couple months already!

Our weather is really cold but it's supposed to get frigid toward the end of the week. My heart breaks for those in the south who lost so many loved ones and their homes.

Wishing everyone a warm, cozy day with hugs.....

Yes...I started applying for jobs on-line one month prior to our move 12/18/16.....

Good luck for those of you looking for jobs. Things should start opening up for you. I have been told it is hard toward the end of the year to look for work because people wait around for year-end bonuses and end of year vacation pay out if they plan on leaving.

Morning all. Still feeling like yuck. Not sure if its a severe cold or a touch of flu. Both kids and I have same thing , hubby has something a bit different and not as bad. I am not a sickly person and hate being sick but this has brought me to my knees. I have spent a good part of the last 3 days in bed and called out of work for today. I would feel ok if I could just hack up this hairball... Hubyy went and bought us all mucinex since it is the only thing for chest congestion..or at least in our small town...and wow is it expensive...but if it works.
Was good to hear from Blondie she sure sounds busy. Sherri hope you get the news you want.

                      Good morning all,

I haven't been on in a while - just check in quickly. We are in the middle of BB season and most of the games this month are long drives. Tonight's game is about 1-1/2 hours away so it will take up about 4.5 hours of the evening. The team is doing well and should have a 1st place spot headed into the post season.

I've been working all month on the 365 challenge blocks from last year. I finally got the month of May finished, but it's consuming all of my sewing time. I was determined to get all them done before the retreat so I could leave it with M* to quilt it. I'm having second thoughts because there are other things I want to do with my sewing time...

Monique - can't wait to see that elephant quilt when it's done.
Carol - good luck on your test today. Let us know how that goes.
Sherri - best wishes on the job hunt. Hope something comes along soon.
Cathy - hope you find your sewing motivation soon. You do such beautiful work.
Joy - I'll have to go look for Blondie's post. I missed it.
Barb - sending prayers for you, Jeff, and the little ladies. I know how hard that is.

                      Have a great day, everyone.

Yesterday I got a jump on the household chores. So today I can hopefully catch up on the tail end of a few other things. Then maybe I can find a day for sewing!
I need to figure out what's for supper. I need to use up the bag of fresh broccoli....
The coffee cup is empty, so I should get on with it.

Laura, I thought about that too. I'd love it, but the family would probably object.

I found some salmon steaks in the freezer. (The neighbor "pays" me for watching their dogs with treats like this when they have a good catch.) Since it is nice out today, I'm going to go clean off the grill and cook them that way. We'll have broccoli rice to go with it and a loaf of fresh French bread.
