    Thursday hellos

Good morning friends. Well it has been wonderful at retreat. I didn't accomplish much but I had a wonderful time. Ate like queens. There are only 7 of us left this morning.

As for the NCW, it was a bust. I hard a hard time and did not get very far with it. I sewed a piece on backwards and gave up (for now). I am working on walllhanging of a whale (pics when I get home) Haida art and I got much help while I was here. We also got some shopping in too.

Sad to leave today but will be glad to get home.

    Have a great day everyone.
Blessed are the children of the piecemakers for they shall inherit the quilts!

Glad you are having such a good time.

We are prepping for an ice storm. We have enough food and all. I'm not really feeling like dealing with this right now.

Olive seems to feel well today after her chemo yesterday. She ate her breakfast and is taking a little nap. Dot is out of sorts a bit today.

No news from my sewing room.

Wishing everyone a good day. Hugs....

Barb, I hope the ice storm doesn't last too long. We had one of those years ago. It was a mess. We could hear limbs cracking and breaking all over the neighborhood.

Hi all. Just taking a quick lunch break here at work today. Glad you had a good time at your retreat Monique. Sounds like a lot of fun. Barb, I'm glad Olive is feeling ok today but sorry Dot is out of sorts. Sounds like a good day to stay inside and snuggle down with a good book.

I'll be finishing up the packing tonight and then scooting around the house to make sure everything is in order for when my sister comes over to spend time with our Miss Myrtle (our cat). Looks like I won't be seeing much of the sun in "sunny" California. But I will be spending my time cuddling Ezekiel so that won't matter much.

OK, guess I need to get back to work. Lots of stuff to get done before I leave here tomorrow at 2 but a good chunk of it has already been taken care of. Right now, I need to go take down my little tabletop Christmas tree and my lights. I'll leave my snowmen up until it's time to decorate for Valentine's Day..

Have a good day everyone. Be safe.

Ice storm expected here this weekend, too. We have food, gas for generator, propane for grill, and lamps filled with oil. I have been cooking and baking most of yesterday and today. It is suppose to start icing on Friday and repeat for Sat and Sunday. Monday could be icy or rainy. Not much more we can do to prepare. We will stay in, but do have a few animals to feed and water. I imagine we will have tree damage to pick up after. I hope we can maintain electricity as life is more pleasant with comfort, heat, Netflix, and sewing machine. We have a supply of books and games if need be......time will tell. I can always cut scraps, if I iron up a pile today!

Just getting here.. lazy and having back problems. Nothing that a little pill can't take care of, but has slowed me down a bit.

working on a swap block.. the pinwheel arrow of Jenny's. with polka dot fabric. got everything cut out.. just gotta start sewing.

It is nasty out there. rain turning to ice for the week end, but it started today. Yuk!! glad I don't have to be out in it. That is the way it goes when you live in Illinois during the winter. Never know what's gonna hit ya til it gets here.

Time to start thinking about to-nights supper. Got a lovely bunch of sweet taters and gonna make some French cut fries out of 'em. That should go well with the broccoli salad. Throw a little T-bone in there and that ought to fill 'em up.
