Good Morning Monique.
Just a quick stop-in. I have a busy day with chores and visits.
Hope everyone enjoys this New Year's Eve and has a healthy and happy 2017
Good Morning....Jeff and I wish you all a happy, healthy and prosperous 2017.
I promised Jeff homemade biscuits and sausage gravy for breakfast and he's not letting me forget. The Girls are napping now but they will gladly share a biscuit later.
Happy New Year everyone. Going to see Star Wars this afternoon and then out to dinner with friends. There is a storm warning for later today so I am a little concerned about being out on the roads tonight but unless it is terrible, DH wants to go.
Hope everyone has a safe and great celebration today and I wish blessings for each of my very special Forum friends for 2017!

"I don't need to get organized, I just need a bigger sewing room." :)
This is a day that I never have liked very much. While I like the idea of hope for new things in the new year, I just despise how this day is turned into party central (I'm not much of a social person).
At any rate, although I have been unemployed this year, it has not been for naught. I completed 6 quilts, quilted 2 of those quilts on a long arm machine, purchased my monstrous Babylock serger and made plans to purchase a Bernina sewing machine in the hopefully not too distant future. I got myself out of most of my debt - the mortgage and refuse to get myself back into debt even for the Bernina.
So, I guess I have learned something this year and provided quilts to those in need (Fort McMurray fire).
Today I will start cutting the one block wonder quilt for my M-I-L who is sick with cancer again.
Morning all. Wishing everyone a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year. 2016 was not so great , here's hoping 2017 will be better.
Nothing planned for us as we are not into social gatherings and rarely if ever drink. I will be sewing a few items today. Got hubby to help me rearrange the drawer tower the printer sits on top of for better use.

Make the last day of 2016 wonderful.
Barb, is it too late to stop by for biscuits and sausage gravy? That sounds yummy!
We've had a fun weekend having our Christmas get together with my family. If we do anything tonight it will probably be supper and games with family at my parents house and then home before midnight.
My niece loved her quilt so I was very happy. I'll post a few pictures after I get them off of the cameras.
Hope everyone has a safe, happy and healthy new year!

I've not been on for quite some time, but wanted to pop in and wish everyone a very happy 2017! Stay safe out there if you venture out for the festivities! Blessings to all!

Not much planned for today. Might start taking our Christmas tree down or else put that off till tomorrow. But it needs to go soon, the needles are getting all over the place! Today DH and I are starting home and later will start making some seafood gumbo which we will have for dinner, out is an annual tradition for us. I think there is football on today--I hate fb so for me that is the green light that I can sneak off into my sewing room for awhile when the games are on. Tidying up in there is way overdue. I used that room for wrapping gifts so I have random small bits of paper, ribbon, etc to pick up. I think my Christmas cards and address book are in there someplace too!
2016 was a very bad year for me so I say goodbye and good riddance and I hope 2017 will be a lot better. Safe driving everyone hitting the roads tonight. If you live in the northeast, stay home if you can! I see you got about 12" of snow yesterday. Take it slow and easy shoveling! Happy New Year everyone.
Happy New Years all! Today will be spent watching football games! I currently have no quilts to bind, so I guess I will crochet while watching them. Someday I hope to crochet as good as GrandmaBabs. I also need to think about what to feed my crew for today and tomorrow. Needs to be something super easy as I am still recovering from pneumonia and get tired so easily yet. Hmmmm.
My DD and her team placed 3rd out of 25 teams in a volleyball tournament yesterday. She is pretty happy about that!
Hope everyone stays safe tonight! Stay away from any drunk drivers!!!
Staying home and off the roads tonight. I'm sure some football will be involved - I know Ohio State is playing later today. Going out in a little bit to run a few errands and then home for the night. 2016 has not been a good year and I will not be sorry to see it go. Looking forward to better things in the New Year, for all of us!
We used to get some dip and chips, a beer for DH and a glass of wine for me and watch TV until the Ball dropped but we can't seem to stay awake that late so we're going out for an early dinner. Here's wishing the Bright New Year begins with only Good Things for us all.

Happy New Year to all,
I will agree 2016 has been a real bummer. Hopefully the New Year will be better. We are staying in also....have soda & snacks. Tomorrow we will have a little open house.....hot ham sandwiches, potato salad, creole beans &chips. Son and his family weren't able to join us for Christmas, as he had to work. So we will celebrate Christmas & New Year's together.
I found a bunch of orphan blocks this morning. Think I have enough scraps in my "never ending scrap pile" to finish them.
Best wishes for a Happy New Year. Kathy
