    Tuesday morning hellos!!!

Good morning everyone! I survived the weekend. Friday night we had dinner with Ashley, her Mom and Greg. The weather made us decide to go earlier. It snowed Friday night, so Saturday was a mess to drive in. We stayed at the base. $100 for two nights. The rooms were quite large, the beds comfortable, and clean. I did a little shopping as well. Sunday was the big day, lots of prep work for the groom and bride. Saturday night came the freezing rain, and most of our side of the family/guests didn't make the trip because of it. A little disappointing but better they stay home and alive.

So the ceremony and dinner were quite small 21 in all. The men were so handsome in their military uniforms. I cried. I didn't get many pictures because I was asked to let the photographer take pictures, so I obliged. Supper was fabulous, speeches again made me cry. And then it was dancing time. And did I dance and maybe indulged in an alcoholic beverage or two.

I sure felt that yesterday morning. I had a personal relationship with the porcelain throne. I think Jodi was worse than I was. Anywho, I survived, gravol is my friend, LOL!!

AND now, to get ready for Christmas. More traveling, this time to Phil's. Maizyn is pretty excited. She told me yesterday that she saw Gemma Stone (a toy) at Walmart. That is all she asked Santa for this year. It is a good thing Santa heard her. She will go crazy Christmas morning when she sees it.

And so today I will go get some groceries. Phil asked for some wonton appetizers so I need to get those ingredients among other things. There might be a little sewing in there somewhere.

Have a great day everyone. It sure is nice to be back home.
Blessed are the children of the piecemakers for they shall inherit the quilts!

Very happy to hear that you made it safe and sound Monique and it sounds like you had a great time.

Yesterday, I finished the last of 4 small bags that needed to be made for Christmas. All I need to do now is make the pj bottoms for DH and quilt the quilt. Not looking forward to doing that on my domestic machine, but I didn't have much luck trying to do straight lines on the longarm last week. So, it's going to have to do.

Today, I'm going to the Babylock dealer to get my serger feet and new iron Happy dance. While I'm there, I'm gonna take the machine that I want on another test drive. This time I will bring my fabric and thread and see what it does. I'm being very slow and determined this time in my decision for a new machine. This will be my 5th machine in 13 years, not including the vintage Berninas I have.

I also need to make sure that I have the ingredients to bake the cookies for DH. I should also stop by the local Lindt chocolate factory outlet and get some of those chocolate balls to put in the small bags that I have made.

So, have a great day peeps. Stay warm and safe.

What a blessing indeed to have both your kiddos for Christmas. My two daughters are so far apart geographically, with different schedules. I had my oldest in San Antonio for Thanksgiving and will be traveling to see my youngest for Christmas. We are going to spend Christmas at the Golden Nugget in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Not my idea of a traditional Christmas, but something she suggested to be together and not dwell on the past and heartbreak of the last two years.

          Morning everyone!
T'was the week before Christmas and all is mess! The kitchen looks like a bomb has gone off with all the baking I have been doing. Yesterday, I made donuts, snowballs, ginger cookies, raisin squares, 7-layer bars, butter tarts, mincemeat tarts, nanaimo bars and cappuchino cookies! The oven was on all day! The sewing room is not much better! I finished 6 more microwave cozies for the bowling team and made each of the ladies a folded ornament. There are spools of thread strewn across the table and little bits of fabric on the floor. Guess I had better clean things up a little!

Today its off to bowling where I will deliver the last 2 Diva Framed Wallets, a couple of clutches and a tablerunner and that will complete the "Christmas orders". Whew! I didn't think I would get it all done. Our bowling league's Christmas potluck is today and I will bring all the ingredients to make a Cranberry-Apple fruit punch...I think it would be better with a little nip in it, but I don't think it will improve my bowling average one little bit!

Tomorrow we will be delivering Christmas Hampers in the City and then attending the Christmas concert with the 3 grand's. On top of that, we have to select the tiles and backsplash for our new kitchen which will be started in early January. Hopefully Thursday will be a little calmer.

Have a wonderful day. Blessings to all.

Morning Everyone....Today I have a consultation with our vet to get Olive's papers and files together for our trip to the hospital in Columbia. Jeff worked 19 hours yesterday and after 3 hours home he had to start another long day. I am going to try to change our appointment for tomorrow for early next week.

Thanks to everyone for your kind wishes. This is devastating for us. Olive is only 7 years old and usually bladder cancer strikes older animals. Dottie will be traveling with us and included in the appointment. We will be making some hard decisions in the next few weeks and your prayers mean so much to us. Our DD wants to see Olive before we lose her....both of the Girls belonged to her family before we got them.

I got a fabulous package in the mail from a special forum friend yesterday. What a blessing her friendship is, especially now...thank you so much, Cathy. In the afternoon I had a visit with my dear friend Janice and we exchanged Christmas gifts with each other.

I talked with Blondie this morning and her DD Sarah and her family are up for a visit from Florida. Blondie's new DGS Eli continues to delight her. Blondie's Mom is doing well and enjoying the visit with the family.

Towanda3, I wish you a Merry Christmas. You can join us here on the forum Christmas Day if you like. Someone is always here to talk with you.

I'm off to figure out my day....Barb

It's already past noon. This a.m. it was laundry, mail, & misc. Yest. eve. I finished sewing the sashing strips & cornerstones to my Broken Orange Peel blocks. I have 1 row sewn together. Four more to go. It's coming together nicely.

Last night a chinook wind blew up & the temp. rose from 38 to 46 in less than 10 min. Today it's 54, windy, & it's really eating up the snow. I'll be glad when it gone. The streets really are sloppy now.

Yest. eve. I ordered some books from Christian Book Distributors. They're having a sale. I had a promo code for free shipping. (After Christmas I'll order boxed cards at a discount for next Christmas.) I also buy quite a few used books from thriftbooks.com I think I'll have to donate some of my older books. I'm running out of shelf space! I have so many favorites. Some of them I've read 3 times.

Well, it's time to get on with my day.

Finally....4 days without my computer during the move to Springfield MO! I would say we are at least 50% unpacked....that does not count the sewing room, though!

We will probably have to reorganize the garage this weekend; we did get the Christmas tree up/no decorations though! I still have not Christmas shopped. I have three job interviews tomorrow and Thursday!

What a feeling it will be to find everything a place, the items not keeping and sorted for donation/garage sale in the spring. To receive a good job offer and get back to quilting again!

It sounds like you have been verrry busy.
Good job with the move/unpacking and best of luck with the job interviews.
