Alphabetizing?! I have my fabrics organized basically by colors or prints. One drawer is florals, another patriotic, children's, etc. Flannels are in a separate drawer.

Wow! organization. What a concept. I tried doing that. I first put the blues in a pile, the pinks in a pile, the plaids in a pile, the flowers in a pile, then I realized there were blue flowers and pink flowers and then I thought how about the really bright flashy fabri\cs in one pile and the little tiny florals in another pile. Hummmm....so how does alphabetizing work? Maybe that would work for me.

You must be doing that since you brought it up.

Do you alphabetize your spices by any chance?

Is there any other way to organize spices? (I ask innocently. )

Oh, there is. It is called chaos, and my man specializes in it. He buys spices to make dry rubs for the different recipes for the smoker. Then they get dumped back in the cabinet. I shall at least be thankful they made it back in there.

                      Alphabetical fabric, wow.
                      Just. WOW.

Just curious how you will Alphabetize. By color? style? designer? company? Sounds like a monumental task. (Says the one whose fabric is totally disorganized.)

DH swore for years that he was going to alphabetize my spices....and I told him he would be sorry if he even touched my spice cabinet. Well he retired long before I did and he took over the cooking.....and guess what one of the first things is that he did - yep - alphatized the spice cabinet. And guess what again - I love it - wonder how I ever managed with it. Of course he strutted around like a bantam rooster for weeks on end because he was right - LOL

My DH hasn't organized the spices yet. Every morning since retiring last April, he gets up and unloads the dishwasher before he walks. I have no idea where anything is but, heck who cares I'm willing to search for it if he puts them away.

Mine are organized by use- ie; baking, spices; curries; stuff for meat and poultry etc.
