    Thursday, inching towards Friday

Good morning dear friends. Slept in a little late this morning. Well our evening went superbly last night. The seniors were happy and well fed. Santa made his visit and each one received a little gift. The husband of my secret sister thanked me for the gifts I gave his wife. He told me as she was telling the story he cried as well. How touched I was to receive such wonderful compliments, I felt like the Grinch when his heart swelled 3 times. I was able to bring home leftovers so I will make Doug a plate of food today.

I didn't do any sewing yesterday so I may try and get in there today.

    Have a great day everyone.
Blessed are the children of the piecemakers for they shall inherit the quilts!

    You ain't no Grinch!!

Your heart is always bigger than average!!

it's best not to try to put it out with gasoline.

Good morning Monique and all who follow.

It's very chilly here today - we even had a few snow flurrys this morning....ugh, I'm so not ready for that white stuff.

Started on my potato bags yesterday - hoping to finish them up today and get them in the mail. Once I remembered how to make them and got in the swing of things they started to move right along. I should have them done by noon today. Then its on to some christmas projects for gifts and also for me. I bought a red bed spread and want to make christmasy pillow/shams. I also want to try my hand at that gift table runner that Barb did....it is so dang cute.

Have a great day everyone...stay warm

        Morning Everyone,

I'm sorting and cleaning the sewing room today. I sent a big bag of things for Jeff to drop off at the community center on his way home today. The proceeds from the sales buy food for the needy in our area.

Jeff loves our Gift quilt. I like it, too, but I prefer the one going to our DD.

Monique, I don't know anyone with a bigger heart than yours.

        Have a wonderful day friends.

Lovely story Monique and you rock.

Yesterday was an entire malfunction in my sewing room. First, I realized that I didn't buy nearly enough fabric to back the tardis quilt. So, I get to drive for 45 minutes one way today to buy the rest (another 2 meters). Sigh. Second, I started sewing a small bag with a vinyl window for DH. That was when my Janome decided it didn't like sewing vinyl despite using a leather needle. Dug out my Bernina 1120 which had absolutely no problem sewing through it and made beautiful stitches like usual. Then, I pulled out my Oliso iron which decided to throw up water (even though it was emptied after last use) everywhere and I plugged it in and it purged more water on my small ironing board. At this point, I decided to throw in the towel.

I am pretty fed up with my Janome and have decided to attempt to deal it and get something else. My priorities have changed since I bought her last year, so my search will be different. Current thoughts are Brother NQ1300, Babylock Lyric or Soprano. Do not want Viking, Pfaff or Janome. Would LOVE Bernina, but not the cost. So, I'm gonna stop at at least one dealer today and make prelimary inquiries. I honestly don't want to have to sell another machine myself. Too much of a hastle.

So, once I get back from my adventure, I will be washing more fabric and attempting to fuse fusible fleece on the bag for DH.

          Have a great day peeps.

The sun is trying to come out, but it's mighty cold this a.m. Only 4 degrees! We got 3" of snow yesterday, then the temps. plunged. That polar plunge came down from Canada. It might not reach 20 deg. today. Sewing projects temporarily are set aside. I'm working on my annual Christmas letter, which is what I'll be doing as soon as I eat breakfast. It takes a while to print off >100 letters. I ordered cards on sale after Christmas last year. Christian Book Distributors has beautiful cards for all occasions. I freq. order from them. Even with tax & shipping, they're cheaper than the cheapest cards at the dollar store & so much nicer, with Scripture verses, etc. I let my fingers do the walking! I also use Jacquie Lawson e-cards. For an annual membership, you can send as many e-c's to as many people as you want. I love the animated cards, which are set to music. You can preview cards for free, but must be a member to send them.

Monique you are an inspiration for all of us, last night you helped make so many seniors happy with a wonderful meal and gifts from Santa as well as your special gifts that thrilled your secret sister and her DH.

Have to get mess in dining room cleared up, sewing stuff, Christmas stuff, gifts to be mailed as well as a big bag of items i ordered on line that arrived yesterday are all cluttering the room. Not a good idea to do too many things at the same time. I feel like throwing a big blanket over the mess and going out for the day.

Monique and Grinch are not two words that would ever be used in the same descriptive sentence. Sounds like you made a lot of people very happy this week.

Happy Thursday evening everyone. It's been one busy week for sure. It actually has been a busy two weeks with the artisan show last weekend. I am happy it did so well and that I got some orders from it too but not overwhelming since I have some Christmas gifts and baby gifts to finish up too. My agency had it's first Holiday Party in 10 years last night. Over 400 people went and it really turned out to be a real nice evening. Of course, we were all pretty tired today but that was ok.

This weekend I have my first lesson on my embroidery machine. Looking forward to that.

I hope everyone had a great day today. Good night everyone. Sleep well.
