    Hospice care

My 88 yr old grandmother entered hospice care today. She has had a multitude of health problems for a long time. There have been many occasions that the drs have told us that the time is here, but they have always been wrong. This time it is real. She has "undiagnosed" lung cancer (they won't do the biopsy), massive blood clots in her lungs, and is now in congestive heart failure. These new things are on top of her COPD and numerous other ailments. So I spent 11 hrs in the car today driving from GA to TX to help out. I sent my mom to bed because she was so exhausted and now I am watching over my grandmother while she sleeps. She only has a few weeks, if we're lucky. This can't be fixed.

I know that everybody's prayer list is extremely long these days, but if you can please say a little prayer for us. Not for healing, that time has passed, but for no suffering.

Thank you for listening to me.
    Melissa

I really hate it when the voices in my head argue among themselves as though I wasn't even in the room.

I tried to be normal once......worst two minutes of my life.

Meli, my prayers are with you on this journey. We had a good experience with hospice with Hubby's grandfather. I hope they are able to bless your family the same way.
Hugs for you during this tough time.

Prayers for strength and patience during this difficult time. I'm sure your mother appreciates you being there. It's hard to lose any parent.

My SIL had hospice and they were wonderful ... once they entered the picture her pain was greatly reduced. My prayer list includes everyone in your family.

Prayers of peace and comfort for your grandmother, you and your family. It is a very difficult time in which you feel very helpless. Your presence and loving devotion is priceless. I went through it earlier this year with my own mother. God Bless!
