It's the Monday evening Owl Thread!

I have now watched the Star Trek movie three times (it's on TV) and I still can't understand the plot. It has both time travel and parallel universes and totally confuses me. Just when I think I get it something else happens and I'm stumped again.

There were actually tornadoes in Iowa today! It's almost December!

I did a little more embroidering with the machine and hand embroidered a cute hamster drawing onto a handkerchief for DH for Christmas. The machine embroidery has a ton of seams. They machine can do them so quickly. It takes far longer to snag and bury all the beginning and end threads.

    What's up with you? @,@

Hoot hoot i'm glad i'm not the only one who gets lost when a movie or story doesn't go straight from beginning to end. There's not much up here I have to go to the burn clinic tomorrow and see if they have any new decisions on how to handle my burns. The pain is so bad sometimes so I haven't been near a machine of fabric .

        Not much going on here.
I will probably pack it in early tonight. I have a full day at the school tomorrow. We have a Reading Is Fundamental (RIF) day on tap. Each child gets to choose a book to take home for their very own. We usually decorate the library for the theme. This time they opted for a pajama day. I have dug my flannel night gown with sleepy Eeyores out of the drawer and have my pair of fuzzy Eeyore slippers to put on once I get there. It will be fun.
If I get lucky, I will have another mom in to teach the Hands On Art program in the afternoon. If not, I get to teach one more lesson this go around. The kids love it, so that makes it worth it.

I finally made the run to JoAnn. I had to pick up the tulle to make a tutu for my son to run in. He is running with his little sister in her first 5K fun run. The school has a Girls On The Run program, and the kids love it. I also found some flannel to finish off the teacher's COC quilt. Bonus!
Time to tuck in the little Miss. Catch you all later! Hugs, Cathy

Joan, I hope you can get those burns healing soon. You will be in my prayers.

We just watched the 1st of 4 episodes of the Gilmore Girls return. The first part seems forced and awkward but it got better about half way through.

If I watch Star Trek or Star Wars I zone out after a few minutes. I may be looking at the screen but I'm not really paying attention to the movie. Hubby and son both like Star Wars.

I think I was the only person in my high school class who found Star Wars boring. The first Star Trek movie directed by Robert Wise was boring to me. Some of the later movies were fun. I find the first movie Star TREK reboot fun, but I can't understand the plot. I didn't like the "Out of Darkness" one much...mostly I find the Kirk/Spock/McCoy relationship humorous.

Hope you get help with pain management, Joan.

I'm going to bed early too! Busy day today. Spent 2 hours trying to repair an internet connection problem ... found out it was an out-of-date driver. Got fabric spread out and into project stacks. 3 pillowcases done and some tumblers cut for a flag quilt. Need to run in to town to get some white fabric for a baby girl lattice quilt. Want to get that done early so going to bed early.

Hope y'all have a great night tonight and a better day tomorrow.

I (and the guy I went with) fell asleep in the theater seeing the Wrath of Khan. I think that was the third Star Trek movie. Granted we had been at the pool for half the day before we went. We both woke up during the final credits, neither realized the other had been sleeping. All we could do was laugh and hope we weren't snoring.

                    Good morning owls!

Joan, I'm so sorry about your burns. I hope you get the pain under control and heal quickly.

My BFF was here for a visit over the weekend. It was wonderful and over too soon, as most fun things are. Feeling like someone threw me under a bus today, I've got a cold, sore throat and my head feels like it's going to explode. I'm ready to go to work but hopefully the day is over quickly and I can go back to bed. I need to find my gloves before I go though, it's gotten really cold here. I hope everybody in tucked in a warm nest! See you later.
