Got together with both brothers and spouses for Turkey day and they came up with our Christmas gift exchange. We swapped couples rather than individual names this year and they came up with a theme of hot/and/or/cold. Now I have to think of a gift of hot or cold theme for my brother & SIL living in Vermont so I only have a couple weeks to get this gift in the mail. Any ideas out there? It does not have to be hand-made this year so that is one good thing.

If you want to do handmade you could do the microwave bowl holders - they can also be used on a bowl of ice cream instead.
Or I make hot packs that are flannel filled with flax seed - they go in the microwave.
One more hot idea is hot pads and a matching table topper with insulbright in it, so that hot containers don't hurt the counter top.Lisa

Not sure what your spending range is, but one of my favorite things that I have is a stainless steel, double walled tumbler. You can use it for hot or cold beverages and it keeps them hot a long time.

I was going to ask if there was a price limit as well. Contigo makes great insulated cups and they are in at Costco right now. A pair is less than $20!pat.

If they like to cook, maybe aprons with hot peppers on them?
We have corn bags that we like. Put them in the microwave for a minute then put on your sore muscle.
An expresso machine.
An ice cream maker.
Too bad it's winter, an icee machine would be great.
An electric blanket.

A winter wonderland wall hanging perhaps. Hard to see in this picture but it's snowing gold and silver flakes in the actual fabric panel. I did this one for my sister and it didn't take long. Your really just sewing on a border you like. Thing is I'm not sure you would get the fabric in time, make it, and ship it out in time for Christmas.
