Night Owling After a Fun Day!

I had a great day! I met Bubba (Pat), Enumclaw Grandma (Libby), Carrie, and Carolyn at the sewing expo in Puyallup this morning. I found a few fun things and have some other ideas brewing. It was good that I left most of my wallet locked up at home. Pat would have had me come home with several new machines, a couple cases of thread, and who knows how many other trinkets. I was tempted with the massage glove thing though.
I think we all agreed to try to meet up again before too long.

Now to throw a few things together for our day trip to the beach this weekend while running through the laundry. The things we do for fun!

I'm feeling pretty excited about winning an eBay auction for 24 yards of 12 various lace trims for $1.35 and free shipping! Whoo hoo future crazy quilt, look out!

Just watching the Bulls beat the Jazz while polishing some brass items...this can of Brasso is so old, almost all of it is dried up inside at the bottom and just a little rust colored fluid comes out...but it does work! Bleh! :P Hope everyone is having a good night!

What a great deal you got on all that lace trim, Kim!

Saw the pic of you ladies in another thread - looked like a happy group. And Yes - Bubba is an enabler ....

I've had a reaction to the antiviral pills I started taking yesterday. I developed a cough and my face looks like it has a bit of a sunburn. Rosy apple cheeks and in the T-zone. Called the dermatologist's office at 3:30 but the triage nurse's line was busy so I left a message. Discouraging that I didn't get a call back before they closed at 5. Won't take any more and will try to call again in the morning ... I'll address what to do about the pills AND the poor triage follow-up. Unfortunately the local office is a satellite of the larger city 40 miles south here ~ and they are a part of a larger network here on the East coast. Only published phone is an 800 number with no local numbers. I may have to get around it by contacting the appointment desk to talk to a real person.

      Hope y'all stay well!

Yeah, it's cheap, but it takes up to 36 business days (so up to 8 weeks?) for it to arrive. Fortunately I'm not in a big hurry ;-)

I think this Pat person is getting a bad rap!!! I will admit, I did really well today. I bought only two pieces of fabric and I will use them to make a bag for myself that I know you will drool over!

After Cathy left, I refound my other friend and walked around with her till the place closed at 1700! My feet, legs and back are not happy with me! Got home about 1730 and sat down in front of the fireplace where I slept until 2000 when MM woke me up! Here's to hoping I won't be up half the night because of it!

Now that I know Cathy does not appear to be a murderer of anything but turkeys, I might venture to her house in the spring to see the baby goats.

I'll make sure when you come for a visit, we have turkey sandwiches! I have been known to kill a slice of chocolate cake, just so you know!
You are all welcome to come visit the babies in the spring!

Pat, did Roger get his bumper sticker?

I told Eric about your offer to escort me to Renton when I take Bernette in for her spa day. He said that sounded rather dangerous!

Kim, That lace ought to make a nice crazy quilt.
How is your brass coming along? (What pray tell, are you polishing?) I think we might have a vintage brass oil lamp from a sail boat, but that's it.

Judy, can you take a benedryl? That would worry me. I'd also be hopping mad at the triage nurse set up. I feel for them in the morning!

Well I have a silver frame around a photo of my mom, two brass candlesticks, and engraved brass Christmas stocking holders from my cousin and I polish them faithfully every five years whether they need it or not ;-)

Those would be worth the effort then.
I mean, the lamp is cool, but not necessarily something I want to polish. It is gimbaled, so no matter how the boat rocks, the lamp stays upright. Since my house doesn't move like a sail boat, it doesn't get much action, and pretty much collects dust on top of the cabinet.

Hey - we've got a clock to match that lamp. It's a wooden one that Steve's great grandfather brought on the boat when he emigrated. The pendulum can rotate when it's swinging. We had it in the back of the van when we brought it home and it didn't lose a minute! We had it valued and insured.

Cathy and Pat........glad you'll had a good time together with the other ladies from the forum.

It sounds like you'll behaved pretty well.
