    Cook Book question

I need some input as to how you all deal with this issue. My Cookbook is a zippered 3 ring binder and heavy. Too big to bring shopping with me. I choose the recipes I want for the week and then write all the ingredients I need to buy for it on the shopping list. I want an app I can feed my recipes into and bring up on my phone or a notebook when shopping. So many times the one of the meals we chose for the week we can't find 1 or more ingredients and need to switch recipes while shopping. Hard to do if all your recipes are not committed to memory. How does everyone deal with this problem? I tried an app on my phone and although it worked , each time I clicked on a recipe i got an ad...very annoying since you can't run ad blockers on the phone. Thanks for any help.

I just do it the old fashioned way (I don't own a phone) and make a list. I print this one out.

I have android devices and use My Cookbook. You can add your own recipes or import them from the Web. You can sync to multiple devices with Dropbox. I've been using it for about 3 years.

We have a grease board that hangs next to the fridge, by the back door. As we run out of things, or know there are things we need, we write them on that. One column is for the grocery store, one is for Costco. As we are heading out to do errands, I take a picture of the list so I have it on the phone while we shop, then delete it once we are done.

I made a Excel spreadsheet master list that has everything I usually buy listed on it and it's set up by the departments and isles in the grocery store. I print the excel sheet out and use a yellow highlighter mark what I'll need and it's easy see what I need to purchase. There is space at the bottom for me to jot down any unusual purchases. If it's a recipe I am going to try for the first time I make a copy, highlight what I need and staple it to my list.

My son asked if you have tried All Recipes? The app? He is searching now to find any thing else.

Not looking for a shopping list format I have paper and pencil for that. Looking for a cook book app I can put MY recipes into on a mobile device. So I can access my recipes from my device while shopping.

Thank you all for your input. I will keep looking.

Well, I just downloaded the latest version of the app I use by maadinfo and the ads are TERRIBLE. I take back my recommendation. I would not use this. Sorry.
