    Friday at last

Good morning, well I think it's good. We had SNOW last night. About 1-1.5 inches fell. Thankfully we didn't have to go anywhere. The plow did have to make a pass though. It's just too early for this. It will all disappear today, but still.

Yesterday morning we went to town, Les had a wee visit with his Mom. She is doing great by the way. Got our 'drugs' for the month so we are all set. Ashley (soon to be new daughter-in-law) is coming on Sunday with her Mom for a little visit. I went to the Boutique yesterday to look for a dress. I will have to go back when I have more time. I saw a few possibilities. After our little trip, I lay down for a bit, had my electric blanket on, and was still cold. Realized the blanket quit working. Our hydro was out. Up I get, take the camp stove out of the closet and set it up to boil water and had myself a cup of tea to warm up. Tablet still had lots of power left in it, so I sat and watched my shows and quilted until the power came back on. Turned out to be not a bad afternoon after all.

So for today, not sure if it will be a clean up day or sewing day. If I didn't have company coming, it would definitely be a sewing day. I may try and get the cleaning done early so I could sew then. We shall see.

In any case, it's Friday. So on that note, have a wonderful weekend friends.

Morning! We had our first snow yesterday morning. It was light flurries mixed with sleet and freezing rain in spots but turned to a cold all rain later. I agree way to early for this. Not much going on. Did my GYN check up weds all looks good , Mammo in 2 weeks. Curtains were changed to heavier thermal drapes. No sewing lately ...need to get the cat quilt done. Stay warm and safe everyone. Hugs

Good morning and Happy Friday. No snow here yesterday but it was a cold, rainy, chilled-to-the-bone day. Brrrrr.

It's going to be a busy start to the weekend. We will be babysitting tonight for Henry while his mom and dad get to go see Billy Joel. Then tomorrow afternoon we have Lily's first birthday party. After that, it's back to the sewing room to continue getting ready for the first craft fair of the season.

Hoping for a quiet day at work today. It was a very productive day yesterday.

Have a good day everyone and keep warm.

        Morning all,
Seems to be a sunny day after yesterday's rain and cold. We're packing up for a quick weekend trip upstate. Have to be home in time for the trick or treaters.
Craft fair items are just about done. I must remind myself not to do this again with only 3 weeks to make alot of stuff! Ginny, where is your craft fair?
Will be picking up my Christmas quilts from the longarmer on my way back from my upstate retreat next week. Was hoping they would be finished at the start of my retreat so I could sew the bindings on while I was there but it's not to be.
Off to finish throwing my clothes in the suitcase. Wishing everyone a good weekend!

Good sunny morning peeps. Apparently there was snow here last night, but I didnt' see it. DH's Bday is on November 19, which is usually the snow gauge around here, maybe not this year.

I continue to look at the Halloween table runner sitting in pieces on my cutting board. I'm just not motivated to sew anything.

I will work at the Toronto Modern Quilt Guild's booth tomorrow, even though I'm not a member. Did some research of what defines a modern quilt so I don't sound like a total idiot. Still deciding to join this group. They have their meetings on the last Sunday of the month from 3-5. For me, this is an awesome meeting time, but I know some don't like that. My problem is the neighbourhood they are located in. It's not the greatest neighbourhood in Toronto, although I was told not to let that keep me away. Their next meeting is on Sunday and I'm still deciding if I want to go. The ladies I met on Wednesday was super welcoming and lovely. Hmmm....

          Have a great weekend everyone.

It's supposed to be sunny & at least 80 today. Yest. we got up to 86! I spent much of the day dragging around hoses & watering the lawn. It's been sooooo dry here. Winter's snow: Our street doesn't get plowed unless we have at least 12" of snow. They do the main streets, but not most residential streets.

Yest. I finished the FMQ on the main body of a baby quilt. Just have the border to do.

Today is a potluck lunch with my Lady Bugs group. (Mostly widows, but a couple divorced ladies. I was invited into the group because DH is in such poor health & it gives me a chance to get out. There are at least 20 of us.) We get together once a mo. I appreciate the fellowship. We alternate having a potluck at someone's home & eating out at a local restaurant. The lady who coordinates this group is 93! She's like the energizer bunny--she just keeps going & going. More power to her.

It's days like today that I wished in Colorado, Jean....we had snow yesterday and it is still on the ground. It is so damp and chilly that even the dog doesn't want to go outside!

The new washer arrives sometime today between 8:30 and 12:30. My poor kitties are locked in the bedroom so they don't bolt for the door when the delivery man arrives. Hopefully they will come sooner rather than later. I will spend all day tomorrow doing the backlog of laundry that has accumulated over the past 3 weeks.

Went into the sewing room this morning and was not motivated to start anything. I need a 9 inch zipper to finish something I did earlier in the week, but can't go to town until after the delivery. Have tons of UFO's but nothing is jumping out at me. Think the weather is having an impact. Just have to give my head a shake and realize it will be like this for the next 5 months and get over it.

Finally booked our hotel for our mini road trip to Binghamton NY the week before US Thanksgiving. We look forward to this trip every year to get some of our Christmas shopping done. There is a huge Joann's in Vestal so that is good for at least a couple of hours of wandering.

Prayers for those in need and hugs to all. Have a great weekend.

At least give it a try. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Cathy, the craft fair is at GEICO. They do two a year for employees/family members. I am also going to do one night at the Old Bethpage Village Restoration in December.
