Question for the Washington forum folks

Have any of you ever attended the Northwest quilt, Craft & Sewing Festival @ the Puyallup Fairgrounds?

    Is it worth attending?

I've never been able to make it to Sew-Expo, so was hoping this might be a good alternative.

I heard from my Quilty Library Ladies that it is smaller than the Sew Expo.
It has been a number of years since I went to Sew Expo, and I haven't been to the fall one. Sorry I don't have better info.

Re: Question for the Washington forum folks

I go to both every year. The one in the fall is about half the size. If you are familiar with the fairgrounds, it is held in the two story building that has the quilts upstairs during the fair. They have several make it/take it booths. Some are free, others have a small fee.

The vendors at this one are mostly a different group than the ones you see at the spring event, although some are the same. I like both, for different reasons.

Thank you Ladies, putting it on my calendar and taking the Friday off from work to go.

I'm a little embarrassed to say, I've lived in Puyallup (1/2 mile from the fairgrounds) for 14 years and other than my DH dragging me to the "manly" events a few times (such as gun shows, outdoor sporting shows, etc), I've never been to the fair or any other 'events" there. I sometimes have minor anxiety attacks when I get into crowded spaces as I'm a bit claustraphobic, but if it's an event that I'm very interested in I don't seem to have the anxiety (too busy having fun so no time to stress, I guess) so I'm hopeing this smaller event may be the one for me.

If you have been to the gun shows, this one is in the building across the walkway and just north. So you know, it does get crowded, but not in a violent way

I think I'm going to go! I love to met up with the MSQC forum people and walk around awhile and talk quilting. If I can't get to Hamilton, Missouri.. I'll take a quilt show an hour away!

I normally go the first day. I think that is a Thursday. If it is a Friday, I won't be there till Saturday, since we have chemo on Friday.

I can do either Thursday or Friday morning.
Thursday I have after school sewing class, and Friday we are headed to the beach for the weekend.

It opens at 10 and runs $10 unless you have a coupon for a $1 off.
