We have a "scenic drive" every fall here in Central Illinois. It is called Spoon River Drive. Well it isn't really a DRIVE anymore.. it like one huge Flea Market/Craft Fair. And you don't get much scenic sites unless we get lots of rain to fill up the "little river".. It's more like a creek and dry stream bed.
But the Flea Market/Craft Fair is amazing.. if you want to stop at every little one along the 12 mile stretch. Or maybe head to one of the small town Parks.. full of vendors.
My Daughter & I pick ONE special spot to visit and explore. And this year we chose The LIL' Red Barn.

Out of the way, but lots of signs to lead you to this little Gem of Americana history.. You can find a spot to sit around a fire pit.. eat a grilled pork Chop Sandwich and peruse the red barn full of antiques.

I met a long arm quilterDSCN8354.jpg
And found an old house that reminded me of my Gram's house. Missing paint and aged look was the same as I remembered from spending summer's there. DSCN8358.jpg
Loved the trip back in time.. and we didn't get lost!! We had an ADVENTURE
