    Being Invaded

    By stinkbugs!!!!!!!!!!Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh

Not sure if it's a result of the roofing. Maybe there was a nest in the attic and they are disturbed by the hammering. But I have 5 running around in my office hanging lantern on my ceiling. I HATE those buggers. I've also noticed over time that they seem to prefer weather in the 70's and are more active then, it was in the high 60's, low 70's this morning.

    Ok, I've gotten 1, 4 to go.

I am getting them too! I like to go around with the vacuum hose and suck them up.

I really hate it when the voices in my head argue among themselves as though I wasn't even in the room.

I tried to be normal once......worst two minutes of my life.

I usually have a tissue and scoop it up and flush down the toilet. I tried a bug spray today but it didn't work.

It seems like every fall we get an invasion of either these or lady bugs. Thank goodness it hasn't been both! Irritating, but seem to disappear eventually when temps fall low enough. I generally blame the harvest field work, but since that pays some of our bills, I will just have to deal with them. Ugh! Like mud in spring!

I don't know where they fome from, but at about the same temp you mentioned we get invaded periodically too. I have one of those battery operated bug killers that looks like a tennis racket and it works great! I keep it in my home office and declare war on those little buggers!

Funny you should talk about this now. They had something on our news tonight. Guess everyone is getting them here - YES, they are gross. "Tis the season - said you could spray your house with a soap and water - leaves a residue on your house and also washes away the feramone(?) to deter them. Also said about spraying them with insect repellent - they said if you have vents on the side of your house to the attic, you may want to check those and spray those with bug spray. they like to get in the attic through them. YUCHT - I hate these things. Those hand held bug zappers work great also - put the kids to work and let them have a little fun.

I never noticed them until last year...from this post it seems they are all over the south east at least.

SO GLAD they are not common here! I can handle bugs outside but when they're in my house they drive me bonkers and creep me right out!

You are lucky Wendy. I don't remember seeing them when I lived in Canada either. I saw this on someone's facebook (think stinkbug not spider) and thought oh I'll give that a try........It didn't work:

The stink bugs are going strong in Pgh PA! They are seeking out warm places for the winter. My porch is screened in and they still find a way in. Darn things aren't affected one bit by bug spray so I just get them with the vacuum cleaner. The exterminator companies around here say they can't prevent them and have a very hard time getting rid of them.
