    Fair Today

Wish me luck. I'm on my way to the annual fair they hold close by. They changed the set up and instead of two days, this year it's one. That's the good news. The bad news is set up is 8AM and it closes up at 8PM. I really don't know how I'll be able to stay awake that long. Last year 8AM till 5 was a long day!

Say a prayer for me. I need the money LOL. I do have more smaller items to sell this year and I'm thinking that might help.

Oh You are in my thoughts. After the first sale, the rest will come easy. You relax. Don't let them see the dollar signs in your eyes and they will want more. What things are you selling? We are all rooting for you.

                              Re: Fair Today

I did much better than I did last year there (Last year I only made $60 I think ). It is a small craft fair but it's so close and nicely done. There are only about 8 of us crafters there but the products are good and hardly any duplications. I sold two quilts and 5 people wanted my business card for future quilts (of which I think two were quite serious). Another 5 asked if I would give lessons and they took my card. Another 5 were curious about renting time on my machine (I didn't expect much more of that). The rest of the sales were from my smaller items and that was pretty brisk. That was mostly keychains, zipper purses, fold and stitch centerpieces, a handspun and woven scarf and some of my handspun wool yarn. Our local high school is bearcats and I sold out of the smaller items of those. Lots of positive feedback, particularly on the Bearcats quilt I did but no one forked over the money to buy it. Also lots of people commented quite positively on my color choices and workmanship. (Always nice to hear LOL) So all in all I'm happy and won't have to cash in any of my very meager savings for another few months. Some people definitely remembered me from being there last year and one hauled out her keychain from last year proudly announcing that she purchased it last year and it's still going strong. Now that's nice to hear too LOL Oh, and one thing I did do different this year was to have a sign and tell people that there was an additional 15% off any marked item for the fair day. That perked a lot of people up, they became more perky and friendly. I do think that also helped sales and was worth it.

I did much better with staying awake and functional than I thought I would It went by much faster then I thought it would although a 12 hours day is still long. I was so afraid that if I got exhausted then I'd get sick (upset stomach which sometimes happens). But I faired well on that too. Carlie was a perfect angel all those hours at home while I was gone. I really worried about how she would do that length of time too. I got home, she was overjoyed and out the back door we went so she could do what she had to do LOL

Getting ready to tuck myself into bed with a book now!
