Thursday, one day closer to Friday

Good morning. It is a sunny start to the day here today. Maizyn and I had a busy day yesterday. The van went in the shop for repairs but as soon as it was ready we were off. I got my fair pass paid my house insurance and then we were off for a swim. I now need a new bathing suit. We had a great afternoon swimming and then in the evening she spent some time with the neighbour kids. I had an hour of quiet.

Not sure what we are doing today.

Well we are off, have a great day everyone.
Blessed are the children of the piecemakers for they shall inherit the quilts!

You gals are really having a good time, even some quiet time for Grandma while Maizyn played with neighbors.

Finally made it to the Seniors meeting, found out the routine, sign in, snack ticket, got a list of meeting and bus trip dates, etc. We sat at a table by ourselves but will have an assigned table at the next meeting. Everyone was friendly but I didn't recognize anyone but many members are away for the summer. Regular business meeting was held and officers gave reports much like my guild meetings. It was announced no Bingo because they hadn't received their permit from the state, that made DH happy. We'll attend future meetings and see how we like it.

At Home Day today and I'm planning to get several things done around the house, make some phone calls and later sit on the back deck weeding and trimming the big potted plants.

      Good Morning All,
Up and out all ready. Did the Wally shopping. We go early in the morning when it's quiet and not crowded. We are leaving as the first wave of shoppers are coming in. Season will be here soon and the shoppers will quadruple. I dislike shopping so much, except for fabric, of course. I truly have my sewing area cleaned up pretty good. Put the last of the fabric that needs sorting in a big laundry basket, so that it's not sitting on any flat space in the room. I can actually walk in there. Going to pull apart the Pirate layer cake I bought from M*, see if I've got stash for contrast blocks. Want to make a DP9 out of it. Going to finish my coffee and get going. Have a good day all. Prayers to all who need them, fires, illness, tornado's,floods, earthquakes, and personnel issues. Kathy
All quilts cat tested and approved.

Living vicariously through all of you since my shoulder surgery waylayed me Monday. This is not for sissies!! I did get to shower this morning so I feel a little more human. I'm getting somewhat better at pulling up my underwear with one hand/arm!! You just don't realize how much you use two hands! However, I know what I'm dealing with is nothing compared to others - so I'll just continue to be informed and entertained by you guys for a few weeks until I can sew again!!

A sunny start to the day here in Colorado, too. Only 52 deg. The clouds burned off during the night & the moon came up. I discovered our power was off at 1:30 this a.m. DH said this a.m. it went off at 10. It was restored at 1:43. Had to set several clocks & the message machine. After all that, it took a while to get back to sleep. Yest. we had sprinkles intermittently all day with only a couple sun breaks. Our high was only 73. Quite a change from the 90's. But it felt good to have it cooler.

Today will be a salad potluck lunch with a group of retired nurses. We used to get together every other month, but it's been less frequent this year. Everyone's busy. One of group died recently of cancer. She was just a year older than I am. A wonderful Christian woman who had done missions work on one of those hospital ships. She also was a quilter. She will be missed.

This afternoon, I hope to get the backing sections sewed together. Got the fabric pressed yest.; it's ready to cut to size. I hope everyone has a good quilty day.

            Good Morning!
Rain started last night and has continued today. Other than that nothing huge going on. I am hoping to get some sewing done this afternoon. There is only one month left until the Fall Forum Retreat and there are several things to get done before then.

            Have a great day everyone

Morning all...work as usual here. Nothing new. Had to drive Liam to camp today and the guy who runs it was late so therefore I was also.

Thinking of those in Italy affected by the earthquake, and flooding in Louisiana, and wars in Syria and elsewhere. So much tragedy in our world these days. Makes me realize how very fortunate I have been in my life to be born in this amazing country of Canada. Trying to stay positive about that.

Sending love and hugs to those in need today and every day. xoxox

Brenda, I know exactly how you feel. I had surgery 3 weeks ago and my right side is still not very useful and I had no shower for 12 days.

                  Morning Everyone,

I'm making Jeff's lunch. He is in training classes this week and has been coming home to eat lunch. Thought I would surprise him with BLT's today.

Got my BLOCK magazine today. Lots of good ideas for Christmas quilts and gifts.

Brenda, hang in there with your shoulder. It took mine 6 weeks to feel fair and much longer for it to feel great. I truly feel your pain!

                  Wishing everyone a great day.

Brenda, I know what your life is like right now. I h

Brenda I have been wondering how you are doing with your shoulder surgery. I broke my shoulder several years ago and I didn't need surgery, but I was amazed at how many thing I did affected my shoulder, and how hard it was to do some things one-handed. I hope you will heal quickly. Have you started PT yet? It will help a lot.

Cokie, I don't start therapy until later next week but from what I understand, it's a pretty painful process but I'm anxious to get started with it! It has really put a damper on my end of summer activities and sewing!! The good thing is, it won't last forever!
