Any quilters in New Zealand?

Hubby and I are hoping to tour North Island when I retire in a couple of years and I wondered if there were any places we just HAVE to visit.

Also what are the fabric shops like? I am hopeful that I can punch a bit of time to visit 1 or 2 or 3.........

I know there must be quilters there as I used to swap blocks with several quilters there. It's has been a few years so I don't have their contact addys any longer - do have some cute blocks made in New Zealander fabrics and/or themes.

I know there is a member living there. I just wanted to say you will love it there! We spent a month in a camper visiting both islands. I'll get my album out to see where we went.

Lorie, would love to know where you went. Hubby and I want to tour in a camper van. One set of friends tired the South Island by bus and another set of friends tired North Island in a van - we really fancy the van idea!!!

You can go to both and drop it off on the other side. There is a ferry that takes you across. I'll look for it tonight. I got a map and traced out our trip while it was going. It was sort of a what ever comes kind of trip. lol There are ton's of camp grounds! I mean even in some remote areas. So fun!


I wanted to add this was done by a book I bought. No internet or gps Just the old fashioned way...mapping.
