    Night Owls of Summer

Hoot hoot! How are you? Well it was a very exciting final NBA game tonight! The Cavs won! I have never watched pro basketball before but this year was a fun one. I really like three point shots! Both teams are great, much better than any college team I've watched. What a competition!

I managed to accidentally put cinnamon in the hamburger again...the canister of chili powder and cinnamon are nearly identical...ha ha..bu I rinsed that hamburger off in a colander and kept going and the taco salad still tasted good.

No sewing here except for mending my buddy's work pants again....his job is tough on clothes. I might get to some counted cross stitching yet tonight. I had some hives again this morning and my antihistamine puts me to sleep, so I have had a bit too much sleep lately. Oh, I wanted to thank bubba for the Aveeno anti-itch cream suggestion. It has calamine lotion in it but it doesn't flake off and it isn't runny. It's very soothing.

    Hoot your updates!

Go Cavs! I'm not a pro basketball fan but living so close it's hard not to get caught up in it. Did a little sewing this weekend but mostly dealing with some family problems - not the best of weekends. Back to work tomorrow and hopefully time to sew some this week. Have a couple of tote bags I'd like to finish up so I can move on to other things.

Off to fold the last load of laundry then off to bed. Have a great Monday everyone!

Hoot hoot we went out for the day to celebrate Father's Day today. My ds and dd decided they wanted to take their dad to Narragansett R.I. to a little restaurant named Aunt Carries. It was a nice little restaurant but I think we had to wait about an hour to get seated but that's ok it took up some of the day.We walked down to the beach and went walking.Yesterday my dh and I went to Conn. to one of the casino's to see a show and then stopped for dinner on the way home I had my first lobster of the season it was good.I didn't get any sewing done this weekend,I was thinking about hand piecing a bow tie quilt I have wanted to make for a while.

No sewing here today. Too exciting with Game 7 tonight, and wow what a game it was. Very close with many many lead changes. I went to Game 6 on Thursday which wasn't close but still electric and the most raucous and loud crowd I've ever been in. If it hadn't been so happy it could have been scary. If you aren't a Clevelander you wouldn't understand why at 1 am the streets downtown are still jammed with people celebrating and the freeways and bridges closed. Fireworks still going off, and generally I guess people are too excited to sleep. Back to real life I guess. A happy day for sure, but I've also spent some time thinking on this Father's Day how much my dad would have enjoyed this championship run. I still miss him.

I am so glad it gave you some relief!! I had a tube of it that went everywhere with me and at home, I had a bottle of it! When I showed it to my doctor, she had never heard of it before and was very impressed with it and the relief it gave me. It's never good when you go thru three tubes of hydrocodisone in one week! Especially when it only works for about three minutes at a time!
          pat.

          No rain....no rainbows!

Nothing special done today. Watched sports all day: car racing, golf and basketball. Congrats to the Cavs and their fans.

Will be packing a cooler to go to out-of-town medical appointments. Steve's is in a town 70 miles north of the house on Monday and mine is 50 miles south on Tuesday. We're trying to get all the med appointments done before we head for Chicago for the 4th of July. Lucky that Tuesday is the start of Row by Row and I'll be in a town that has a row and plate I want. Hootin' off to bed early tonight!

Hoot Hoot......4am and this bird is wide awake....I really hate when this happens. Congrats to the Cavs.....not a basketball fan myself, just never got into sports. I remember when the ladies would just hang out and gab while the men watched the games, be it basketball, football, baseball or whatever. Now the gals are right in there with them....well all except this gl - LOL!!!! Seems like my buddies deserted me.

Busy Sunday for us. First church, then some shopping. Home for a little tidying up. In the afternoon DS#2 and DGD came over for a couple of hours and then we all went to dinner with the rest of the family to celebrate Fathers Day. All in all it was a really great day.

I finally got the baby quilt done for my niece. The shower isn't until July 9th, so I'm a little ahead of schedule. Now I'm trying to decide on a label. Have any of you guys used the iron on fabric sheets that go through the ink jet printer. I was thinking of trying those and probably hand sewing it on as well as ironing it on, since it'll probably spend a good bit of time in the washer.

Not going to get much sewing done this week. DH and I are taking a little trip to Ocean City. Leaving on Tuesday morning and probably returning on Friday morning. Just a quick little getaway. Our niece has a nice little condo down there and she's always pushing us to use it..so we decided to take her up on it. The Fireman's convention is there this week and DH used to be a volunteer in his younger days. On Thursday there is an impromptu reunion of the guys from his old fire house, so he's planning to attend that while I do some shopping - or maybe just laying on the beach.

I hope everyone is sound asleep in their tree by now.
