    Stormy Night Owl

Lots of rain in Iowa tonight and it sounds like Minnesota has had worse storms. A good night to be inside a nice empty tree nest.

I did get some more cross stitching done yesterday and finished another section. Now I'll be working on a yellow and white farmhouse. It seems straightforward.

My summer skin welts have reappeared. They are very itchy. I have some prescription pills and cream for them. Ice packs help too.

How are you doing tonight? @,@

It's quiet and in the low 50's here tonight. Why do you get welts in the summer? Is it some kind of poisin ivy.oak..?I hope they go away soon,my girlfriend was gardening and got into something that she had an awful reaction to she needed two weeks worth of steroids and they usually only prescribe them for 5 days.Has your buddy found out where his leak is coming from Yet?As you can tell not much up here.

He is having a friend look at it on Wednesday. I got down low enough to see under the car and he pointed out where he'd seen the leak and it looked like the lower black hose in the area between the tank and the engine, so I'm hoping it's a cracked hose and not a hole in the radiator. Keep praying it is a cheap fix...my buddy has such a hard time saving money due to the brain injury. We held it for him because if it is his bank account, he will impulse buy. It took him three years to save enough for a car and big repairs are not in his budget. I think he has around eight hundred dollars left. I'm hopeful that that will cover the problem, or else I helped him buy a lemon!

Sorry to hear about the welts. We were suppose to get storms but didn't get anything. The crops and everything else could use some nice rain.

Fair warning - my update isn't the most pleasant news. Didn't log on last night because I was very busy in the bathroom taking care of the colonoscopy prep. Got messy a few times with 2 jumps-in-the-shower-to-get-cleaned-up.

Appointment at 10 and finally got into the colonoscopy suite at 12:20. 1 hr and 10 minutes later I finally got out. I was awake for most of it in what they called a "twilight sleep". I became more awake when he started taking out 7 "Groupings" (his words not mine.) Will get biopsy results in 10-14 days. And need to have another follow-up colonoscopy in 6 MONTHS.

Whoa, mixed feelings here. Great he found things and got them taken care of but now curious why such a short follow up time. Guess I'll find out more when the biopsy results come back. Won't be back home until late Wednesday so will check in again tomorrow.

          Til then y'all stay healthy!

Let see if all of my keyboard will work. Hey! It looks good. Sometimes the iPad gets in a snit and won't type from the right side.

I did work on the tote bag today. I also had unexpected company. She was welcome, but a bit distracting. Not as much progress was made as I would have liked.
I got some more unsewing done this evening while I was watching Deadliest Catch and the new show Dark Woods Justice. That one is about the sheriffs in the counties of the Olympic Peninsula out here in Washington.
Now I'm feeling the need to go to bed before I fall asleep on the couch.
Good luck on your cross stitch Kim!

Judy, I don't know what the doctor meant, but I've heard that polyps are very slow growing, so if you had any, you got them attended to quick...good for you. I'd be unsettled at the news that I had to get another colonoscopy that soon too. Was the pill better than the GoLyteLy?

Joan, we haven't been able to figure out why I get the welts. They occur at joints, like behind my knee, where (if I have my knee bent) it is hotter and damper. I don't handle heat well at all. It seems better this morning.

Had not heard of Back Woods Justice, but I have it set to record now. Sounds like an interesting thing to watch!

A few years ago, I had a severe allergic reaction to medication which led me to have allergic reactions to other things later, and still to this day. Mostly it's cleaners. I clearly remember getting yelled at by the doctor for over usage of hydrocodisine cream when she learned I had gone thru over a tube in one week! Seems it thins your skin and it takes a while for it to recover. Anyway, I was desperate and nothing was working....until I found Aveeno Anti Itch Cream. That is the most amazing stuff ever! The doctor had never heard of it and was awfully impressed with the results. It did not make the hives/welts go away, but it made the itching not be as bad.
                pat.

Thanks, I'll try that out as the prescription cream is a steroid, I think...

Yes, there are several Rx creams that are steroids. They will mess with your eye pressure if you have glaucoma too. Found this out the hard way. Good to know about the OTC Avenoo cream. Kathy

The Aveeno comes in both a bottle and a tube. The packaging is a light brown/tan w/blue. I always have a hard time finding it on the shelf, but they do carry it at Target.

Whoo hoo! I am thanking God that my buddy's car seems to be okay! They added more coolant and it is not dripping out yet! I was so stressed out about this one that I had had to put it in God's hands because I was feeling so anxious.

Pat, have you seen Rugged Justice? It's about the Fish and Game officers here in WA. Our neighbor has been on several times. More variety of topics since it spans the entire state.
Dark Woods seems to be dealing with Grays Harbor, Jefferson, and Mason counties so far. I haven't heard them mention Clallum yet, but I do know they are focusing on the Olympic Peninsula and primarily the rain forest.

In other news, I am nearing completion of the tote bag. I didn't realize how stiff this batting really is. Yikes! No worries about it holding it's shape! It is also turning out larger than I had thought. I guess that is what happens when you wing it, instead of following a pattern!
Tomorrow is field day, so I had better turn in and get some rest before my marathon day of face painting. Yee Haw! Just 1.5 days of school. We can do this. I'm not sure who is looking forward to summer break more, Emily or me!
I hope all is well in your neck of the woods!
                            Hugs, Cathy
