Hoot! Hoot! What's up with you? Some cross stitching today and Bible study. Also more searching for affordable cars. I have an appointment at noon tomorrow to look at a Dodge Caravan. It seems like vans are cheaper than cars on Craigslist to me...

Laid out falling charms blocks on living room floor, so trying to get that all sewn together today. Can't wait to finish it so I can go back to working on DS's triangle quilt, since I just received the laser cut pieces back yesterday. So nice to have someone cut all those triangles.
Really struggling with decision about how long to continue working or at least in my current job. Pays good, but I am bored and feel as though they are trying to push me out. Part of me wants to stay just to spite them. I don't think I am ready to throw in the towel yet, but don't like the environment either.

Karen it's hard isn't it when you feel like that at a job. Worked at Wells Fargo , after they bought out the bank I was working for and loved. They brought over employees, then little by little they started finding things to let people go, I was lucky I could retire I haven't regretted it things have worked out better. So hope it all works out for you.
Working on getting all my fabric and supply's. I need for Panguitch quilt walk. Hope all have a great day

I've just been reading the history of Panguitch and the quilt walk. What a wonderful story and beautiful area! Have you lived there all your life ceiliam? Such a wonderful place to live!

Thanks for your comment. It is a hard decision, which I know only I can make. Went through a divorce 8 years ago, and know that I am completely on my own. I think my biggest issue is I don't want to be a burden on my children later. My biggest reason I continue to work is for health insurance. I guess I need to research private coverage. decisions, decisions. Maybe they will let me go in the next layoff and give me severance. ... I wish.

rainy afternoon here, I get frustrated when I need to change the needle on my machine, my fingers are way too big, what a process!!!
Patching a small bed for my 9 lbs doggy girl.....my shingles are still painful after almost 3 months....to anyone with a heavy cross to carry I send my prayers. May I humbly ask for your prayers? I need strength, the shingles are dragging me down...

Oh boy mario1360, you have my sympathies about the shingles...got them three years ago on July 4th and was pretty much at home smashed on oxycodone for a month...and they even caught it early enough that I was put on Valtrex, so it could have been even worse...May the Lord give you strength and comfort!

It was a scorcher here today, so of course, we went to pick up a load of hay.

I have all of the Box Tops done, all of the Labels for Education are done too. (Thanks to help from my mom!) I just have the receipts to finish tallying and turn in.
I think I contracted pink eye from the labels. My left eye is bloodshot and the eyeball itself hurts. I'm sending you prayers for strength with the shingles, as it sounds so much worse. My sister looked up a herbal remedy that she said helped. I want to say that it was a poultice that included licorice root. I'll ask her and post it here in the morning.

That is why I left when I did, after 31 years! They were trying to get out of an L&I agreement they made with me about my work hours and I was refusing. The stress did me in and my doctor told me to quit......so I did! I had planned on staying till I was 62, but 56 was a good number too.....I'd rather be retired than dead!

I'm with you Pat. I was trying to stay to 65, but I seriously doubt that I last. I have good reason to put up with it through the end of this year, but not sure after that. I'm beginning to think like you, retired is better than dead.

Luckily, I have MM working still for medical. The cost of that would be hard to meet if it were just me. I'd have to get a rinky dink fun job someplace just to pay for that!

I had a job that I really loved, and always said that I would retire when I didn't enjoy it any more. This was working as a medical transcriber. I had worked at home for 26 years. Well, 2-1/2 years ago I was diagnosed with breast cancer and had a double mastectomy. I decided that even though I still enjoyed my job, it was probably best to retire and concentrate on my medical issues. But, in January of this year I decided that since my medical issues were pretty much under control, and I WAS BORED, I called my old place of employment and they were glad to have me back. So, I am now back to working part-time, and finding I still enjoy it MOST of the time, lol. I am 73 years old, and work part-time from home, 28 hours a week. This is great to supplement my SS, and provides me the extra money to feed my quilting addiction.
