    I KNOW it's FRIDAY!!

    TGIF everyone!
    from last night:
If you could see my red face now over the Wednesday greeting. Good Grief! I don't even go into the shop on Wednesdays. That should have been my first clue! And yes, Confuscious had it correct. 5 days is far too long, even for cousins. They did spend some time visiting with Mom, visiting with my brother and of course, my sis came over here to visit with them. They love my sweet tea and adore my big man.

On the bright side, no pee stained mattress. Just one squiggle of a dried turd under the bed. I can deal with that.

When I finished work, I decided to visit the LQS in and found some neat remnants for a good deal.

Off to finish a few candle mats and table runner. Will take pics when I have finished them. Cousin's wife Evie just thinks I am so clever but she would never be able to find time to just sit. I told her follow me around for a day and see when I do actually do get to sit. LOL. She thought that was cute. I think we are safe from another visit from them until next year. One of my Frank's other brothers (he has 3) will most likely be next. I can handle Paul. Please, Lord, let it be Paul. He is my favorite from that batch.

Since I was lost in a time warp early yesterday morning, it is good to know I have both feet on the floor, the fog out of my brain and know that I am actually sitting here on Friday, July 8, 2011 !!

What does everyone have on their agenda for the weekend? I know I will be in the garden and then of course, stitching a wee bit.

I am in desparate need of a good cuppa coffee. Off to grab the pot and drink it down. Have a good day ladies.

    Hi Blondie and quilting ladies

Here it is Friday too. Came back from therapy and go into the garden as well. Before it might rain. It's a lot cooler today and I might get some weeds out.

Intend to rip some mens shirt apart later on. My collection of scrap from shirts and boxer shorts grows. So right now I'm looking for some pattern, sort of Bonnie Hunter, to use up those scraps. I found out that I like my "Jack the Ripper" very much! At least sometimes.

Have a nice weekend all of you quilting ladies

      Good morning!

Mamaquilt, I've thought of using men's shirts before too. Maybe making an all plaid quilt someday.

This weekend we are anxiously anticipating the wedding of our dear friend, Scott. We've been praying for years for the Lord to send him a wife...and He did! She's super cute too! Unfortunately, on the quilting side, they announced their wedding too soon to be able to make a quilt before the wedding, but I'm considering maybe doing one for a late gift.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend too!

        Re: I KNOW it's FRIDAY!!

Hello all my quilting buddies!I haven't been on here to much lately. Trying to get off this computer a little. It can really eat up a day before you know it.
Blondie I understand fully about the mix up with the days of the week.I have been off work all summer and lotsa times couldn't tell you what day of the week it is either.
No big plans for this weekend.DD will be going to a birthday party this afternoon. She had one of her 2 surgeries.Wednesday. Nothing major, just removed a dermal nevus off the front of her neck. There is another one that will come off in October.3 stitches. She is fixing to turn 13 so it was "becoming a problem"(if you know what I mean)
I have all the fabric for another quilt but not sure when I will get on it. School will be in the first week of August so back to work for me.Bummer I really enjoy my time off.Never had that before I started with the school system. I worked all the time. Made alot more money but I definetely prefer the time with family rather than the money.
Anyway yall have a great weekend and keep on stitching!!!

Mom flies back home tomorrow at noon. Hubby and I are exhausted from 2+ months of trips and visitors so the rest of the weekend will be relaxing, maybe a movie and dinner out. As I said, I haven't quilted in those 2+ months so I'm anxious to get back to it! We are having the regular heatwave in our part of Texas but did have 15 mins. of a downpour on Wednesday which makes for even more humidity here down south. It's not an outdoor time here so will gladly stay inside and quilt! Everyone have a great weekend!

FRIDAY? What happened to Thursday? I'm lost. I've gone to find myself. If I should return before I get back, please have me wait.

Finished cutting squares for Emily's penguin quilt and have one of 9 rows of blocks finished. I get so bummed out because after half an hour or so of sewing my upper back tightens and I need to rest. Then something will interfere and I don't get back to it as soon as I would like. I should be able to finish the top (except for the clipping) in one day. So, I got up with that in mind and just got off the phone with DD and a request to please take the girls to swim practice. I'll do it because I know my DSIL is on vacation and they need the special time together. So, maybe, just maybe I'll get to sew this afternoon.

May everyone have a wonderful, fun-filled day! Hugs to all.

                  Morning All!
We put the trellis back up on the wall and the clematis looks a bit haggard, but with some water hopefully it will perk up.
We just watched the shuttle Atlantis take off. Hard to believe it was 30 years ago that the first one took off. Strange to think that I have seen an entire space program in my lifetime. Makes me wonder what my daughter will see in hers.
No sewing again today. More painting, and I have to give a disaster preparedness presentation tonight. Probably should look over that material sometime before I have to present it.
Gotta go update the blog and get crackin' on the trim painting. We are nearly done with the exterior of the house and it looks pretty good.
                  Have a fabulous day!

                        Re: I KNOW it's FRIDAY!!

                        Hi Blondie and everyone........
Even tho I don't respond to these daily threads, I read them and enjoy learning what you are all doing and or planning to do with your days.
As I read today's posts, I thought about all of the times I've asked for help on a project and never told you what happened to it. One of my biggest questions was about the black/white and red quilt I worked on for so long. That one I posted some photos of when it was in the piecing stage. Well, now it's complete and I hauled it off to the LQS for a long arm session. I really like it and I'm eager to get it back. Another project I asked about was the wedding quilt for my niece..... and thank you all for your input. I haven't made a decision on that yet but I love dresden plates, so I'll let you know more when that one gets clear in my own mind. I'm also working on the sail boat quilt that Jenny did a tutorial on ..... it's a batik quilt done in ocean hues, with sail boat appliques on a beige background. It will be really pretty .......and if I could just work on one project at a time, it might be finished soon. So.... in the middle of those projects, I've completed three charity quilts for the "quilts for kids" program......... (whew) and today I began working on a purple raggy quilt with hearts appliqued on the blocks.
Now you see why I'm so ditzy and forgetful? Tooo much going on ..... oh and I almost forgot the dozen or so pincushions I want to make.
Thank you all for sharing part of your days with me..... you always bring me a smile....
Hugs to each one of you
                        ~~ Hugs and Blessings,
                        Mia
